A Little Bit about Our Speakers:
Angelo is currently studying alcohol and substance use disorders at Rio Salado College, but plans on transferring to NAU in fall of 2025 where he will pursue a double bachelor in Strategic Leadership and Justice Studies. Angelo is currently working in the nonprofit sector and wishes to pursue it further with the goal of having a large impact on the recovery and reentry communities.
Pete is a retiree. After serving his country in the Vietnam war, he drove professionally first with semi’s and eventually settled in the profession of public transportation in the cities of Las Vegas and Phoenix where he drove a bus. Prior to his retirement, he was a bus driver for the Gila River Indian Community School district, which he enjoyed very much.
Our Goal Behind This Series:
This video showcases a part of our PTK Chapter Alpha Theta Omicron's 2024 Honors in Action Project. This year's theme is "The Power of Stories," where PTK student scholars are hard at work exploring how stories shape our world. Our chapter focused on Theme 5: Representation Through Stories, exploring the importance of diverse and authentic narratives and how stories represent us. We're interviewing people in our community and letting them share their stories with you!
