This is so far the best and detailed introduction of Yamaha LS6. Thank you very much!

I recently got the LS16R ($499) and the LS16R ($799) at the same time for comparison. Bottom line: There was not a $300 difference in tone between them. Both had that amazing rosewood richness. I sent the 16 back and kept the 6. This is an incredible guitar for fingerpicking. Very satisfied.

"All Things Must Pass? there at the end? Nice arrangement! I'd been thinking about going for an FS 830, but after seeing this video I'm thinking an LS6 might be the better value, all things considered!

Good review; however, I would consider this a fingerstyle guitar, and you mostly did a bunch of loud strumming and a little hybrid picking. Get a good fingerstyle player to help with the demo next time.

Sounds like City Magic by Les Dudek around the 2:15 mark.

    Sensacional e fantástico!
Comprei pra mim um CPX 700 II e gostaria de saber se ele aguentar as tensões de cordas (0.12 - 053), (0.12-0.56) ou 0.13. Estou usando no meu CPX 700 a tensão (0.12-0.56) e o timbre ficou super selvagem, encorpado e com graves poderosos.
Posso ficar usar a tensão (0.12-0.56) no meu violão CPX 700? Achei impecável a construção e o acabamento do violões da Yamaha.
Sou seguidor e fã dos violões da Yamaha.

Great Guitar, what microphone did Kraft Music use to capture it ?
Im seeing this mic a lot in guitar reviews so i wonder if i should buy it.
Thanks for answers in advance :)

Sounds really great mic'd but the pickup has the soapy piezo characteristic that I can't stand. Can't have everything I suppose.

It's my understanding that these LS6's are solid Englemann spruce on *laminate* mahogany OR rosewood B&S. But the LS16 _is_ solid mahogany... AND a solid Englemann spruce sound board, but of course it's more expensive. Music 123 has a few open-box deals on these right now (May 25, 2019) Good passive pickup in both models.

DI is awful, but that's typical. Even my PRS sounds awful into my load box and studio monitor headphones....so dont be put off by that! It needs equalizing -- via amp settings, post-processing, or otherwise

I believe that's an ebony fretboard and bridge

+Sean Duggan Actually, the original LS6 used an ebony fretboard and bridge but this new ARE model (2013) uses rosewood. Thanks for watching!
