- The first volume from the Knights of Bretonnia omnibus, Knight Errant.
Synopsis: "The noble knights of Bretonnia are bound by duty and honour to fight for their king, and defend their lands from invaders. When the Lord of Bastonne falls ill, his two sons Calard and Bertelis are plunged into conflict as suppressed rivalries surface. As a horde of goblins swarms out of the forests, the knights gather their forces to repel the foul beasts, little suspecting that the true enemy has yet to reveal itself."

Exciting, rollicking, rushing ushering in of high drama, for this final part to the book.
Ah, that's too bad about Élisabeth but though I hadn't suspected her I should've known, from among the Bretonnian nobility. And as she gets going in the midst of grief, I can see where her path is sadly gonna go from here.
The castellan's fate, at the hands of the Gave that is, remained certain right up until his end. He shouldn't have given in to that moment of weakness, all that long ago when discarding of the tainted babe in the woods. Besides, he spurned Calard one final time with his last breaths, from within his very embrace; what an ass. With the Gave-son's demise by its own will and act also not being a shock, after the author having by then cogently conveyed how miserable a creature it was.
While the chamberlain remains the secret society conspirator and collector of secrets that he is since being revealed to be spying on Tannenborg's sneaking. The essence of the hooded figures' mission is more or less altruistic, at least by Bretonnian nobility standards.
GDN...thank you, yet again, so very much for yet another full novel set in this world. Regardless of the justifiably insufferable impressions from Bretonnia's culture of ignorant nobility. Multiple decent characters were along for their war and this story, such as Gunthar, Deiter, Reolas, Anara...even Claude, lending light-hearted fare to these warring family matters. As another enjoyable recording worthy of immediate replay, I liked how this book concluded with a relative abruptness indicating the ongoing tale will be picked up right away in the following novel, as with the Mathias Thulmann trilogy for example. I'm eager to be surprised by which ever book it is that you'll unleash next. Until your next grimdark adventure, be well and have a healthy and awesome week.
Oh boy Mike Castellan's was not only ass bad a father." 😃👍
We shall see Elisabet again. Also, the father final words kinda cemented my impression that most bretonnians are assholes.
Great story!!!!!!!!!!
Good book thanks
Did NOT see that ending coming.
Great reading. Thanks.
Great story. Thank you for narrating 🙂
Thanks for listening.
Oh boy victory death tragedy secrets and betrayal I feel "bad" for The house Garamont. and for the beast who ended up as a tragic mistake Of a abomination nobody won in the end Calard and Bertelis ended up with no father are there old friend the weapons master because Elizabeth Thought she cared for him deeply, for a better tomorrow that would never happen over her treachery that came full circle Yet she still didn't understand that he loved his father-- no matter of his actions are his love for Bertelis it's sad to know this family troubles are just beginning and i can't wait, for GDN next installment of this Grand story to be told again.
By the sword of the lady Grant vengeance for this family be safe everyone Tell next time."😃👍
Pretty brutal.
Another exciting story - Thank you very much GDN!
You're welcome.
Thanks GDN. You light these books up so well with your narratoion. Great job. 🇬🇧👍
ROFL: "My sooooon..." "I'm here, dad!" "No... the one I like..."
Can't have a chapter of this without at least one bretonnian being a peak asshole.
Thanks for yet another great reading GDN!
Damn that was a grimdark ending
Proper warhammer ending.
So let's take an account, within a few hours this poor dude had to deal with:
Seeing his castle burning down
His family servants being slaughtered
Finding out the girl he loved was purposely killing his father
His half-brother was a corrupt mutant (who also caused a massive war, notwithstanding)
His family and personal rival getting to say he saved his life AND delivering a scathing insult about his lineage that he couldn't deny
His father being murdered by said mutant half-brother
His fathers last words being about wanting to see his OTHER half-brother, whom he now confirmed he loved more
At this point, all it would take is for him to be caught peeing his pants in front of his Grail Knight hero, and his life would be 100% ruined. I do hope things turn out alright for him, but doubtful.
Good stuff, look forward to the sequels. Any Chance of the Dwarf anthology in the future?
I wouldn't say never, but for no plans for it now. Sequels to this are coming and more G&F.
Wonder what's next
A final Florin & Lorenzo short story, then G&F Road of Skulls, then the sequel to this book.
For the lady
Well done! Will you read more bretonnia books?:)
Yes, following the next book.
Knights of Bretonnia 2 next?
Only after the next book.
