I like the pages with many small images in Johanna's books, because I can finish something even if I don't have a lot of time. If I have time for a bigger project, I can always grab a Kerby book or all of my other books (I think Johanna is the only one who does the small images in a style that I like).
@@Sisterofthesea Yes, that is very true that's why I like her Small victories book so much but I personally would rather than color in SV than in a bigger book. Thanks so much for sharing your opinion 💝
Yes, these are also the two other books that I have of her books. I also won't be getting more of her books unless she comes up with something super different.💝
I have just ordered the Magical Worlds and I only have her Inky and the Butterfly, Small Victories plus the Christmas book so the images don't seem too repetitive to me. Love your snow pictures. How do you colour snow using pencils? I am a beginner and mine doesn't look good at all.
Yes, in that case the images are not too repetitive. I feel they are very similar to the illustrations in small victories, rooms of Wonder and worlds of Wonder. But if someone has just one if these books like you it will not be so repetitive. Oh, thank you so much I'm also still kinda trying to figure out how to color snow correctly and trying to find new/other methods to do so. But in the shown images I blended my lightest violet, my lightest blue and white together and then covered the lines with white gel pen.💝
@@patriciajaynebavas7118 I just thought about actually doing a video about how I color winter/Christmas things hopefully I will have it done at the beginning or mid December.😊
I loved your spirit animals pages! To me they seem so magical and stunning . If you wouldn’t have pointed out your hiccups, I would have never known. I think that’s what so cool about looking at others’ pages and others looking at yours. Everyone always sees something different. I also really like the glimmer effect you give some of your pages! For your JB question, I love her work so much I’ll continue to get her books. I’m a die hard JB fan though. I respect your opinion and feelings ❤ we all have different tastes . I love her open backgrounds, but I also use a lot of gouache, watercolor, soft and oil pastels. Who knows how I would feel if not. There’s so many beautiful illustrations and artists out there , we will never be out of options!❤❤ I look forward to seeing more of your videos! Do you have an instagram? Thank you for sharing your beautiful work and feelings about everything ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@@Wilcoxmomma1103 thank you so much for your lovely comment💝 I totally understand if someone is great at creating Backgrounds with different mediums these empty backgrounds are perfect then. I unfortunately rarely like the backgrounds that I come up with and I also don't enjoy it too much but I definitely really love her style. I don't have an Instagram at the moment but I'm thinking of creating one since many colorist seem to use this platform.
My favorites JB books are Worlds of Wonder and Small VV, and this one is kind of a mix of those two, so I like it a lot. I'm not keen on leaves and flowers, such as World of Flowers or Magical Jungle and so on... Although I agree that in this new book some of the images could be bigger and there is an excess of blanc spaces, and the "wall paper" pages are just redundant. I've purchased the French edition (it's like half the price compared to the UK or the US ones) and the paper is lovely. My Small VV version is the German edition and the paper is ok-ish but not great. I'm thinking about acquiring the French one as well. The Marabout printed books seem all to have very high quality paper. Hope this helps.
Yes, I'm also not such a fan of her earlier books. I kinda also liked the world of Wonder Images but I also felt there were a lot of images with a lot of Blanc backgrounds if I remember correctly so I don't have this book. Yes, if I will ever get another book of hers I'm definitely gonna go with the French version. 😊
Let me know which was your favorite page of the month?
Gefällt mir, super schön anzusehen, danke 😊
