The Resort complex’s in Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 look absolutely stunning and probably going to be expensive as a holiday destination, however, the thing that I would like to know is have Saudi Arabia relaxed its rules and laws regarding the consumption of alcohol, when I worked in the country in the early 90s consumption of alcohol was completely banned and if, like many Saudi citizens, you wanted to have a legal alcoholic drink then you had to go to Bahrain, so if Saudi Arabia has not relaxed their laws about alcohol consumption then I think the resort will be absolutely stunning, fine dining, water sports and luxurious accommodation on offer, but only if you are “tea-total”, as I am which for many tourists is not the case, they want to have a drink while soaking up the sun, with lunch and dinner and during their evening relaxation/entertainment, and that would make the whole place a white elephant, and the resort owners/financiers will want a good return on their investment and not resorts half empty because of the alcohol laws. The Gordie Howe bridge will look 👀 fantastic when it is finished, but will it be used, or allowed to be used, too speed up cross border travel, the President Elect of the USA has been “sabre rattling” before, during and after the election about how he views the Canadian 🇨🇦 border and the tariffs he might impose upon goods entering the United States 🇺🇸, much as he has done about the Mexican border with the USA 🇺🇸 and has said that he intends to finish the wall and deport vast numbers of illegal immigrants from the USA, would he be applying the same thing to Canada?, if so the bridge could be another white elephant. The Navy Mumbai airport should be a huge success for travellers and cargo aircraft, and should look absolutely stunning when completed. The thing that gets my attention is the length of time it has taken just to lay the foundation stone, three decades seems like the developers/Indian government are working to the British 🇬🇧 model for infrastructure development, except we take far longer to get building by which time the original design is outdated and not fit for purpose anymore, and the original cost just keeps going up and up until, like HS2, parts of the project have to be scrapped because the taxpayers can’t afford it, and the billions of pounds ££££ already invested are wasted and people displaced by the project were moved for nothing.
