Thank you sir for this video! My psychiatrist prescribed me ESCITALOPRAM + Clonazepam 0.25 for 1 month due to my panic disorder & OCD. As you said, the risk of these medications increase when used alongwith antidepressants, so am I at risk ?
Only in the long term, short term risks are few. Only few side effects or withdrawal effects would be there, but no permanent effects as of now. Psychiatric medicines are safe if taken for short term. That's why alternative coping strategies should be implemented when someone has to come off these drugs. Mostly people get dependent on these meds bcoz they assume that medicines will do everything. But that's not true. Medicines need to be supplemented with healthy lifestyle and thought modifying strategies. Only then psych meds are helpful.
@@PsyClinicTarunVerma Thank you sir for clarifying, I always knew that CBT + SSRIs as combined gives the best output because medicines only help the patient to achieve the modified lifestyle, but at the end of the day the patient have to improve their cognitive skills to get relief from anxiety.
