I’ve always wondered how MAMAMOO has never been able to reach the same level of fame as BTS and BLACKPINK. I mean these girls are very talented and they definitely give off a western vibe which should be appreciated more internationally. They also make regular comebacks with quality songs and Hwasa has also collaborated with Dua Lipa so she should be more well known in western countries as well.
I seriously think mamamoo is the best and the greatest girl group korea has ever had their talents are unmatchable they have world class talents they obviously deserve much better toi Bad they are from small company but we'll support them no matter what
I think it's partially due to their controversial "look". It's doesn't fit the Korean good girl image? I feel like BP is a bit manufactured (ie the "upgraded 2ne1", not true ofc) whereas Mamamoo has that "it" factor that a lot of gg's are missing today

That’s why it’s easier for them to be famous. As for Mamamoo, RBW is a fairly new company and Mamamoo is the first group they debuted. And honestly RBW is not the best at promoting, especially internationally. But don’t worry, Mamamoo is really popular in Korea. It’s just the international fans that are still sleeping on them :)

This song and mv concept is so underrated. Im new to mamamoo and im upset I didn’t discover them earlier. This is hands down my favourite kpop mv to ever exist i mean most of kpop mv now were shoot in a fancy build set complete with a high tech while this mv compliments the nature at its best and the result it just as breathtakingly beautiful
not to mention the amount of effort you would have to put in to shoot on location since nature shoots are really reliant on the amount of sun/lighting at the moment (and money to actually send everyone to the location! so its understandable tbh for MVs to be shot on a set)

In the 2010's, were a lot f peoples started, the industry was more focused on Asia, and especially the massive Japanese market, so there were a lot of Japanese influences in their style of music - so back then, Kpop sounded more Asian. Before that thou, Kpop heavly influenced by western pop. Once it become global it started to once again get more westernized to appeal to our markets. And then other bands just started to copy the formula that made the more famous bands be successful. That's why a lot of it basically, sounds pretty much the same, and why Black Pink just launches the same damn song over and over again. This song sounds European, it has a very Balkan, very East European pop song... but in essence is like a return to the roots.

@@いぶき-s9m Because of the disagreement between Spotify and Kakao M which is the music distributor of Mamamoo and other Kpop groups like IU etc. Because of that, The contract between the 2 parties ended last March 2 if i'm not mistaken thats why their songs are not available in Spotify. But later on, They came into an agreement that they both agreed on and after that, tada, their songs and streams are now back on Spotify! Hope this helps 😊

In the 2010's, were a lot f peoples started, the industry was more focused on Asia, and especially the massive Japanese market, so there were a lot of Japanese influences in their style of music - so back then, Kpop sounded more Asian. Before that thou, Kpop heavly influenced by western pop. Once it become global it started to once again get more westernized to appeal to our markets. And then other bands just started to copy the formula that made the more famous bands be successful. That's why a lot of it basically, sounds pretty much the same, and why Black Pink just launches the same damn song over and over again. This song sounds European, it has a very Balkan, very East European pop song... but in essence is like a return to the roots.

@@いぶき-s9m Because of the disagreement between Spotify and Kakao M which is the music distributor of Mamamoo and other Kpop groups like IU etc. Because of that, The contract between the 2 parties ended last March 2 if i'm not mistaken thats why their songs are not available in Spotify. But later on, They came into an agreement that they both agreed on and after that, tada, their songs and streams are now back on Spotify! Hope this helps 😊
