Donegal 2019 was quickly shaping up to be one of the greatest and most memorable rallies for many many years. This was due to the entry list, the superb dry weather all weekend with record pace every stage and also due to the huge number of dedicated spectators who travelled from all over Ireland, Uk and America. Donegal 2019 was fast ticking every box bar none. This rally was extra special and was going down in the history books for all the right reasons when suddenly on Fanad on Sunday the rally was going to be remembered for all the wrong reasons as Manus Kelly lost his young life on that stage. It's difficult to put into words how everyone felt as the news filtered through. For me the word shellshocked came to mind. His reputation and record speaks volumes. The rally will continue all be it without the huge personality of Manus Kelly. RIP. #kingofthehills
