i mean like when you really think about it, she is basically the most important member of Hololive. Everything started from her and without her, Hololive won't be able to survive and thrive this much. Her actions instigated the VTuber boom, she's basically in the same importance as Yagoo himself.
Also, we recently found out that it was Sora's dream all along that pushed for the existence of Hololive. In highschool Sora told her best friend, A-chan, that she wanted to be an idol. A-chan literally dropped everything to make that true, and here we are.

This is one of those interactions where the interpretation makes a real difference to how it comes across. I’ve seen different versions which are much more fawning and others where it’s more jokey. I don’t think any are actually bad interpretations, it’s just interesting to see how differently language can be taken.

NIJISANJI was founded in February 2018 though AnyColor Inc. was founded in 2nd May, 2017 before Sora’s debut. Additionally, Tsukino Mito debuted in 7th February, 2018. So yeah. That’s why I didn’t included NIJISANJI although NIJISANJI is the biggest VTuber agency in Japan.
I haven't seen or heard anyone make the comparison yet but sora senpais journey is a lot like Simon's in gurren lagann and A chan is her kamina. The community loves to fully embrace memes as lore as so does corporate! We need a lengthy animation and tons of fan art of her as Simon because she started at the very bottom like him and pushed through the difficulty and doubts to reach the top. I think she still has a long way to go and that's the fucking tragedy of this story so far but it's not over yet! Believe in the A chan that believes in you!

It's much better now than it was before though, back when she felt like she couldn't be with any juniors or play games with them. They're a lot less reverent to her nowadays, but it's not easy for everyone to just stop.
The difference is that even in Gen0, Nothing would’ve happened if A-chan and Sora never approached Yagoo with their new idea. Also none of us fans would’ve existed except maybe the 13 Knights of Sora who I swear would’ve found their way to follow her anyways. Gen 0 isn't all chronologically the first though. Its a "Gen" that consists of those who debuted by themselves, not first. Only Sora and Roboco came before Gen 1 FYI.
Miko debuted at the same time as Gamers (between Mio and Okayu, I think), so in gen0 she's actually quite the kouhai. I think only AZKi is younger (Suisei debuted almost in the same time as Robocco, even if she just came to Cover way after)... and the maybe is in the "even AZKi might be older" side.
With Sora, it’s much trickier given she was one of the people that started it all, alongside A-chan and the rest of the Cover staff. In fact, Sora even predates the Hololive name itself, which back then was an attempt for a phone app, but later repurposed to be the group’s name once they started to recruit more talent.
I'm glad to see Sora interact with other Holomems more. The more it happens the more she'll become known as friend to all of them instead of THE Sora senpai goddess. She will ultimately descend into the degenerate pool with the rest of holomems and thus shattering Yagoos dream indefinitely lol
She's already implied that when she did a shitpost review with Coco. While Watame is my Oshi, I see 3 specific members of Hololive as the most important, even in the VTuber sphere as a whole. 1. Is Sora herself. Lui isn’t wrong when she says that none of Hololive would exist without Sora. Hololive was her dream from the start and she put in the work to make it happen. Hololive was a completely untested concept that nobody knew would work, Virtual Idols. And it did, to absolutely massive success. And yet? If Sora had just given up before It really took off, none of Hololive would be around. So many friends would never have met. So many lives would be completely different. 2. The legendary Dragon of Hololive, Kiryu Coco. She basically brought VTubing to the West, and successfully proved to everyone that we very much enjoy what Hololive has to offer, and are more than willing to shill out the big bucks, making it a very profitable area of business. And this ties in to 3. Gawr Gura herself. The biggest VTuber to ever exist, the one who really put Hololive and VTubers as a whole on the radar. Just a small little gremlin, and yet she’s made such a massive impact on so many lives. But again, without Sora, Kaichou wouldn’t exist. Gura wouldn’t exist. Even Watame wouldn’t exist. I’m not saying they would be dead or anything without Sora, but we wouldn’t know of them as the same people. Hell, some, like Lui, would never be known, since she wouldn’t have become a VTuber without Sora’s hard work and dedication. It’s sometimes very…surreal, to think that one woman’s dream changed millions of lives, some might even say for the better. And I respect the hell out of Sora for that. While I find it very hard not to think of Sora as a goddess like figure, I understand that she doesn’t like being put on a pedestal and so I try not to, because it’s the least I can do for someone who, inadvertently, saved my life.
I know what you mean about saving your life. I've gotten more joy from these waifus than any other women In a time when everything had gone wrong in my life and I felt completely alone, these girls made me want to continue.
@@OC.TINYYY As much as I love Coco yeah I agree miko first brought western audience, those GTA streams are very important for hololive's growth. Coco opened the path for holoEN, this made holopro think that there is an untapped audience for an english speaking stream. Then you have Miko, Marine and Pekora who generate the most liveviewers by far. Fubuki also played an important part with recruiting and helping a lot of the members.
Bruhh, they praised her way too much lol. Although Sora deserves all the praise, they should really realize she just wants to be treated normally and have normal interactions/relationships with her kouhais without them needing to be super cautious.
I hope that these collabs will help normalise Sora a bit for everyone else. Everyone treats her like the holy goddess (that she is) but I bet Sora must feel alienated sometimes because of it.
It's funny how Sora sees herself as nothing too special but she is the cornerstone that is Hololive, imagine if she decided to give up while she had only those 10 watchers (in which one was an ELITE) who knows if Hololive would have inspired so many girls and in the future boys to join in.

Without Vocaloids, the idea of virtual entertainers like Kizuna AI (who addressed Miku as her senpai) would not have existed.
And without Kizuna AI, the idea of VTubers would not have existed.
And lastly, without Sora, the rest of the generations would not have existed.
But more importantly, without YAGOO, Hololive would not have existed.

Cover Corp. was founded in 2016.
Sora debuted in 7th September, 2017.
NIJISANJI was founded in February 2018 though AnyColor Inc. was founded in 2nd May, 2017 before Sora’s debut.
Additionally, Tsukino Mito debuted in 7th February, 2018. So yeah. That’s why I didn’t included NIJISANJI although NIJISANJI is the biggest VTuber agency in Japan.
I might catch flak for this, but Sora is just as influencial and inspirational to the VTuber business as Kizuna Ai.

I haven't seen or heard anyone make the comparison yet but sora senpais journey is a lot like Simon's in gurren lagann and A chan is her kamina.
The community loves to fully embrace memes as lore as so does corporate! We need a lengthy animation and tons of fan art of her as Simon because she started at the very bottom like him and pushed through the difficulty and doubts to reach the top.
I think she still has a long way to go and that's the fucking tragedy of this story so far but it's not over yet!

Gen 0 isn't all chronologically the first though. Its a "Gen" that consists of those who debuted by themselves, not first. Only Sora and Roboco came before Gen 1 FYI.
Miko debuted at the same time as Gamers (between Mio and Okayu, I think), so in gen0 she's actually quite the kouhai.
I think only AZKi is younger (Suisei debuted almost in the same time as Robocco, even if she just came to Cover way after)... and the maybe is in the "even AZKi might be older" side.
With Sora, it’s much trickier given she was one of the people that started it all, alongside A-chan and the rest of the Cover staff.
In fact, Sora even predates the Hololive name itself, which back then was an attempt for a phone app, but later repurposed to be the group’s name once they started to recruit more talent.

I'm glad to see Sora interact with other Holomems more. The more it happens the more she'll become known as friend to all of them instead of THE Sora senpai goddess. She will ultimately descend into the degenerate pool with the rest of holomems and thus shattering Yagoos dream indefinitely lol
She's already implied that when she did a shitpost review with Coco. She flat out said she doesn't believe herself to be seiso and that she is down for anything (shenanigans). i doubt you'll see her be a degenerate so much as a good friend to them and down for a little pranking (which she is kown to do from time to time - a la Minecraft)
While Watame is my Oshi, I see 3 specific members of Hololive as the most important, even in the VTuber sphere as a whole. 1. Is Sora herself. Lui isn’t wrong when she says that none of Hololive would exist without Sora. Hololive was her dream from the start and she put in the work to make it happen. Hololive was a completely untested concept that nobody knew would work, Virtual Idols. And it did, to absolutely massive success. And yet? If Sora had just given up before It really took off, none of Hololive would be around. So many friends would never have met. So many lives would be completely different. 2. The legendary Dragon of Hololive, Kiryu Coco. She basically brought VTubing to the West, and successfully proved to everyone that we very much enjoy what Hololive has to offer, and are more than willing to shill out the big bucks, making it a very profitable area of business. And this ties in to 3. Gawr Gura herself. The biggest VTuber to ever exist, the one who really put Hololive and VTubers as a whole on the radar. Just a small little gremlin, and yet she’s made such a massive impact on so many lives. But again, without Sora, Kaichou wouldn’t exist. Gura wouldn’t exist. Even Watame wouldn’t exist. I’m not saying they would be dead or anything without Sora, but we wouldn’t know of them as the same people. Hell, some, like Lui, would never be known, since she wouldn’t have become a VTuber without Sora’s hard work and dedication. It’s sometimes very…surreal, to think that one woman’s dream changed millions of lives, some might even say for the better. And I respect the hell out of Sora for that. While I find it very hard not to think of Sora as a goddess like figure, I understand that she doesn’t like being put on a pedestal and so I try not to, because it’s the least I can do for someone who, inadvertently, saved my life.
Eh, I'd argue Miko brought the west to vtubing as much as Coco. She's why me & countless others are here.
I would still be extremely depressed, and probably worse, so I am thankful for her persevering in the beginning.

@@OC.TINYYY As much as I love Coco yeah I agree miko first brought western audience, those GTA streams are very important for hololive's growth. Coco opened the path for holoEN, this made holopro think that there is an untapped audience for an english speaking stream. Then you have Miko, Marine and Pekora who generate the most liveviewers by far.
Fubuki also played an important part with recruiting and helping a lot of the members.
