Nice work! Just did a transmission rebuild and a rear main seal on my 2002 MDX at 228,000 miles. The ONLY suggestion I have for you is to use "Hondabond" RTV. It's the best stuff in the business. It's pretty expensive but you won't be doing that rear main or have the plate leak for another 20 years! I guess I don't trust the hi temp rtv enough haha. Nice work!

Damn bud...I hope this isn't the case w my pilot, I don't have a garage, much less a lift. I might have to bite the bullet and have a shop do this...FML!!!
Sweet vid BTW, very informative and helpful!! I liked the fact that ur wife hung out w u during the process!! Mine does the same thing!!
    Thanks again bud!!

Remember coming into the shop for an oil change and I told her about the leak and for obvious reasons we didn't do the oil change as it would be a waste. Good to see it get fixed!

Thank you for this video. I have a 2003 Honda Pilot and you confirm what my mechanic told me about the main seal leakage...he too said the same thing about this being an expensive job and I could just add oil and an oil change.

Great job . That looks 👀 scary . Just thinking about it the headache that comes to mind .But you know what if it were me and I had the engine out would change all the difficult seals and replace any old parts that are hard to get to . For my own peace of mind .Then clean the engine ..nice job.😊

All modern Honda cars seem to have oil leaking problems, not reliable like Toyotas. Honda should use better gaskets and seals, ridiculous. Agree get to a point where it's better to let it drip or don't buy Hondas until they fix the issue.

Try AT-205 might stop the leak and spare you from a big expense of replacing the seal

I am losing about a half quart of oil between oil changes due to a rear main seal leak. After watching this video, I will continue to park over a piece of cardboard in my garage. A dollar per month is better than tackling this headache!

Great video man this would help me decide if I should put her down for good, or try to get more about of my pilot, so my pilot need timing belt water pump replace and rear seal would it be worth it to you fixing a 2007 with 380k on it?
