And Chris Cooper playing the dirty cop. Too good.
And Chris went on after this to play in a time to kill
Interestingly, a then-relatively unknown Julia Roberts had a supporting role in this episode as well.
It's B-U-R-N-E-T-T not Bernet you follow.
Gotta fool the YT algorithms.
That's what happens when an 8 year old ups a video
That's why I slapped a thumbs-down on this video and deleted it from my watch history. Incompetents shouldn't be operating these channels. Miami Vice deserves better.
The Power Yell from Tubbs!
I can still hear it in 2021!
I hear it in 2023 after 35 years since this episode aired.
I just love the remix of Tubbs' theme 3:09 😍😍😍
*"That's B-U-R-N-E-DOUBLE-T!"*
Miami vice was the best cop show back in the '80s I used to watch this show all the time back then it still is the best cop show
Holy cow!!!! That was Chris Cooper! Did everybody guest star on Vice?😅
Yeah. Bruce Willis was on that show too.
You can check them out here. Quite the line-up if you ask me. miamivice.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_Guest_Stars

Wow, that is one, nice looking HD scan and restoration!
Haven't seen this episode in almost 30 years, but for about 30 seconds before he said it, I was like "That's B U R, N E double T." 'Mirror Image' Sonny's alter ego was as gangster as it got.
Hell yeah-The other line I'll always remember too was 'I know what it sounds like when you cock a .38'.
Nothing else like Miami vice 🌴
Chris Cooper as Hagovich, I believe.
I came to the comments section to see if anyone else noticed it!! Yep, I too believe that's Chris Cooper!! He sure has aged well!!
Best scene for me of the entire series.
2:52 Crockett helped to correct the misspelling of the name in title.
This episode just came on Encore last night! I wish I could go back before my time so bad.
Best show there ever was....
0:21 Is he using some kind of rich mans I pad only in 1985?
I think it was a digital calculator. They did have those back then and they were that thin. I think I still have one in a drawer somewhere around here.
I believe this was the season 4 finale. Can you imagine ? Waiting for the new season to start to see how it plays out?
The only thing missing was Sonny actually jumping a shark as he sped off.
that boat came to our showroom in ny after so cool
He spelled his name for you and you still got it wrong. 😂
My favorite series of the time 👍👍👍
Miami vice expetacular seriado oss
Don literally spells the name: B U R N E T T - yet the title is still wrong LOLz
BURNETT!! The name of my Elementary school!! And I’d give my left nut if my Mercury 150 pro max sounded that good firing up while in the water!!😜🙏🏻🙏🏻🤝😆🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I once read, a long time ago, that Don Johnson came close to leaving the show between the end of the fourth season and the start of the fifth; but in the end he decided to continue until the last episode. Although I can imagine hundreds of scenarios in which Sonny Crokett could leave the vice division if Johnson left, what if it left me intrigued was who would have replaced him and my question is: Hagovich was going to be Crokett's successor if he retired After the death of his wife or did he die in the exploration of the ship or was there a new character who would have the attributes of the insomniac Sonny Crokett / Burnett? for example: a powerful dealer who redeems himself at the end of the second episode of the fifth season
the plot of the beginning of the fifth season made it clear that there was going to be a corrupt officer who joined the vice unit and Hagovich met all the requirements of a corrupt officer who could redeem himself and join the team, although there could also be a new character who was a dealer who joined the team; but since in the end Don Johnson did not leave the show, it was Burnett's character who adopted those characteristics.
The world longest sentence right there. Can I buy a period?
@@prism8289 It's okay. I understood the sentence. English teachers are becoming obsolete.
I think your correct, Hagovich was going to replace Crokett but Crokett changed his mind and they wrote him aka Hagovich being killed by Crockett. The three episode arc that Hagovich was on was the introduction of him and when season 5 started he would be with the unit and having to prove himself if not stay criminal.

How great was this show
I miss when i had the only videos of miaimi vice on youtube and they suspended my account. Can I have it back now that time & copyright restrictions have eased? I had hours of footage.

The bad guy is chris cooper a great actor, iin alot of Michael mann films & shows .genrally plays a good villain..He was the killer in money 💸 train with Wesley snipes , funny enough Wesley snipes was in mismi vice too ...
Don Johnson is too cool in this episode!!
Great show. Stayed on too long though
What did i miss here??? What the hell just hppnd?? Never saw this lol
They should be of made the Burnett arc last longer. DJ was good as a good guy, buy i liked him ad a bad guy even more. No rules just Don...❤

Burnett with the Mullet
*Burnett
Is that the late great Sam Shepard can’t remember if it was ?.
Burnett even spells his name in this video, this is the supposed official channel, and it can't get Burnett's spelled correctly ? B-U-R-N-E-DOUBLE T -------> B-U-R-N-E-T-T
If this is from the 80’s, what was Hagovich holding in his hand while sitting on the couch?
@Bri Ba Palm pilots didn't come out until the late 90's. It's a calculator. He just has a weird way of pushing buttons. It must be a villain thing.
@Bri Ba I was alive in the 80's. Touch screens were rare. Flat screens were virtually non-existent. Apple didn't loan out their prototypes to drug lords. And, you can clearly see that it's a calculator when he sets it down. I thought for a moment that it might be a hand-held video game similar to electronic football but those tended to be thicker.
That's B U R N E, Double T.
That's one seriously oddball/weirdass show.
burnett
Captured the 80s for all time. The neon, the music, the big hair, the bigger shoulder pads, Coke wars. Cars, boats, girls. My favorite decade.
anyone who lived through the 80s knows it was the best decade
Hey, there's still cars, boats, girls, and drug wars. Check out the boats leaving Haulover Inlet. I'm sure some of those are brought with drug money.
It was the pinnacle of times. God I miss it
It was freaking fun as was the 90's but pretty much downhill from there.
80s Tucci is a handsome hunk
Michael Mann truly helped build that city back. If you watch the first season or two, you'll notice how dark and almost desolate South Beach is.
Mann deserves a medal for his service for Miami
I went there for grad school in part because of that image of Miami, figured it was my last chance in life to cut loose.
When this story line started in season 4, a lot of people didn't like it, saying it was too soap opera 'amnesia' plot line. I thought it was the best Miami Vice ever did. I loved B-U-R-N-E-double-T realized as an actual character and not just Sonny's cover.
Same here; I must've been 15 yrs old but I've never got chills from a show like the scene where he goes back to the precinct after regaining his memory.
as epic as epic gets.. this cliffhanger ending was actually better than the next season re start.. sonny was just so dark and disturbed.. classic.. I was 17

love the robotech logo 👍 one of my favs
The storyline was halfway believable, but no way would Crockett NOT end up in jail in real life at the end. That wasn’t believable. But at least they didn’t make it a stupid dream sequence or something.
I always felt the reason Burnett was so good as a criminal is because he had the mind of a cop. I mean Sonny became really ruthless the exact opposite of Crockett.
That's but n e double T
That's bur, n e double T
Great story line in these episodes!!
Duh. Ya think?
Still unmatched style as Burnett and his personality in TV show history, wish the Burnett story lasted for a whole season.
Donnie Wayne Johnson is the tops. He told Collin Farrell to give him his jockstrap back after they made Miami vice movie. True story
I think it was too cheesy.
Amnesia, really?
Such a TV trope if the writers are out of ideas
It was edgy and dark I don’t know for a whole season, it would have made Crockets story on a different arc that fact that it was 4 made his ‘Redemption’ more swingable
Even though Johnson spells it out for everybody, it's still spelled wrong in the video title.
Hopefully a little joke.
That’s the whole point. And you missed it. Obviously this post is far to clever for you to understand
@@Golfstar17 There are two o's in too.
@Unknown Soldier Yup.

For a second it looked like he was using a tablet, No, it's a calculator.
Calculator was the tablet of the 80s.
That’s how we used to spend our Sunday afternoons. Just calculatin’. Adding, subtracting, multiplying… For hours.
Lol me too...
Yeah hahahaha
Like the touch dial phone.
Is this channel trolling us by misspelling his name? 🤣
When Crockett thought he was Burnett, how did Don Johnson make his eyes look so dead
Great acting.
Hagovich was so crooked that they had to screw him into the ground.
The desperation in Tubbs voice is heartbreaking. Solid acting always, perfect soundtrack and writing. Nothing today comes close.
Amen to that, brother...
The show was crap at this point. Lame writing, direction, production etc. Season 3 onwards its not worth bothering with.
@@Euadam Gotta disagree. This storyline was solid all through and the ending of the show is iconic. Not many tv shows ended up with the MCs saying "fuck it".
It is literally the golden age of television right now and have been for the last 10 years or so. But whatever floats your boat.
@@veganvvarrior golden age now?? Lol tv sunk so low that it's not worth it right now with the exception of 3 or 4 shows. Too much identity communist politics infesting tv

i was a Miami cop in the 80s with a partner, we drove a Ferrari. Then Miami Vice hits the screens and suddenly everybodys laughing at us while we on the streets. Sure, I had a mullett, and my partner was black too, but we were the real deal. We took out the trash, until this show made us a cliche. Had to quit. Became a robot cop instead. And then this movie Robocop came out...
😂😂😂😂😂😂

DonJohnson didn't make a big impact in movies but he was the coolest TV star ever. So visually beautiful and cool!!
Check him out at a young age in "A Boy and his Dog."
@Ace Buck That was like a visual comic book! The one and only Mickey Rourke was in it I think, right? They both had/have all-American style.
People just have seen the wrong Johnson movies. He shines in Harley Davidson & Marlboro Man and in Dennis Hopper's The Hot Spot.
Cease Fire was his Truman Show.

Crazy thing is this is all one episode. How many episodes would this take in 2021? He went from a good cop to bad guy Burnett in 1 episode!
Best episode of the entire series, the evil Sonny is cool as 0 Kelvin
Not really. If you look at the previous episodes. Sonny's mental instability had been building up since Hackman shot Caitlin and then Sonny shoots Hackman in revenge.
Are you misspelling names in purpose now to cover the first mistake?

As a teen I was aware of the trope of "amnesia" episodes in tv shows, especially series westerns. As an adult I look back at this run of episodes and really have to admire the writers for doing such a good job with the story arch. And Don's ability to play a villain (or asshole like in TinCup) just sold it.
That trope was the bread & butter of soap operas too. I wish I didn't know that.
One of the best cliffhangers in tv history.
I think that was DJ's own boat, I have seen him in it at the Tiki Hut in Key Largo. ;
Cool

I like he callback to Crockett's Theme in the music. And is it just me but seeing Burnett using a revolver is just awesome.
The bad guy on the couch was tweeting the details of the drug deal to some other bad guys. Very Avant-garde stuff in the 1980's!
Right? I thought he was using an iPad 😆 he's the mortician from Moonstruck

When the boat starts up, the sound effects guy makes it sound like 454 or 502. Then when he takes off the true outboard motor sound is there. Snazzy
interesting what do those numbers mean? what boat is this? I can't find any info on it.
@@squash2097 The 454 and 502 are V8 car engines. The numbers 454 and 502 are the cubic inch displacement of the motors. U.S. motors weren't measured in liters back then like they are today.
