Okachan after all this year with GOD's motor can you tell us the secret to have a reliable engine? Don't need 500hp , something around 300hp what do you recommend ?
If you are in the US definitely start with a stock unopened engine. Tubular Manifold, T2 turbo (can be of your choice, Okachan would say the GTRS 0.63), drop in cams, Z32 or R35 MAF, intercooler, greddy boost controller, oil cooler, upgraded radiator, stock clutch fan, and a stock computer chip tune from RS Enthalpy. That will get you 300+ hp and last a long time, as long as you do proper maintenance.
I have watched a lot of his older videos where he appeared in Drift Tengoku and Option video where he showed his recipe, and it remains largely unchanged since the 1990s. Some refinements with R35 Coilpacks, and R35 MAF, but all vehicles he sets up follow a very simple formula. I had a silvia s14 imported from Japan, and it was set up in a very similar fashion. From 2019 until now it has never had one issue, and it has more than enough power.
When you start using modern technology is when it becomes more complex and issues arise. Standalone managment opens the floodgates for issues, and causes more problems than you think you will solve. Unless you don't drive it at all until it is 100% dialed in. Even then, the cost and time of working that way is not as efficient as sticking with the stock computer and a MAF.
