This knife has proven to be very useful prepping relief supplies for WNC. Working in a crowded airport with lots of folks milling around made opening and closing quickly very important. Lightweight and pocket carry was a plus. I used it a lot to cut open donated bulk packaging of items for individual care packages and broke down a LOT of cardboard boxes for the trash. Glad I could just swap out blades at the end of the day after it got gummy and dull and didn’t mess up one of my more expensive pocket knives.
The srew used to hold the blade is M2.5x2.7mm (standard pitch). The lenght is 2.7mm because there is a slight dome at the end for easier insertion compared to usual rolled thread (which may or may not actually make a difference). Hand-turnable M2.5 screws are available though not typically in the length. Socket cap screws with external knurling on the head are an option with a fairly small head. Proper thumb-screws are also available, but they might not have the same strength caregory.
I wish you would have actually tried a standard razor blade for confirmation? Civivi branded blades seem to hint otherwise? I'll stick with my Milwaukee Fastback which does more and is over half the price.
Ok it’s very “pretty “ but how does it do after cutting up a bunch of heavy cardboard ? Does the blade even stay in the frame ? That is an expensive utility knife so it should hold up to heavy use. How about getting back to us when you have done your homework and can really tell us if it’s a good buy or not.
I certainly will get back to you when I have more information. This video is just an unbox and first impression video, so I don't have all the longevity info yet.
Eh, I give em an 8.5 outta 10 on this one. 3 options on deploying it but still gotta use a tool to swap blades? .............Swing and a miss. I've ordered mine from Atlantic Knife and look forward to using it because I still believe it's the best one handed use utility knife available out there. Just gotta wonder why no knurled thumb screw for blade retention or spare blade storage inside the frame.
Honestly, that would be the only improvement that I'd make (so far). A knurled thumb screw would be the way to go. I actually wonder if I could find a small one on McMaster Carr... .hmmmm. Thanks for watching/commenting!
@@JamesDailyTV there's a guy on etsy that sells one for the Gerber EAB utility knife, not sure if it'll work on this but I'll know once my Civivi comes in.

@@geraldroberts4721 any update on this?
They didn't just change the blade. The handle is smaller than the original.
I’ll have to compare it directly but I definitely didn’t notice that.
