There was a British show Vicar of Dibley maybe. The character always said, a line of yeses and then said no. His wife did the opposite. So in a matter of minutes you can tell what kind of church you are in on how they greet one. I spoke to a priest about why we need to have a prayer about being a loving church and why didn't we simply just do it and I showed him how easy it is. People during Christmas mass didn't sing. We had lectures regarding Laudato Si and they all applauded and then they did the bare minimum. I saw Shane Claiborne one time and he was and is a great speaker and yet he made one mistake he never asked people when he came back next year what would be different how they were willing to commit. What we need is a revolution of the heart and a church that is truly uplifting and promotes the projects of others and helps them meet their needs in the church. What if we took 100 percent responsibility for the church and life we have? What would we do as a church if we were the church we wanted to be? Do the things that lead to that.
Sir, what you are talking about is absolutely right; but don't forget the last words of Paul to the elders of Ephesian church. Acts 19. He said that when he left/go away/die that wolves who will not handle the flock tenderly will come in into the body of elders. Their mission is to twist the gospel and that they are going to turn some of the elders into their side and these elders will run along with these false doctrines and make disciples after themselves, no longer after Christ. This is the hidden rise of what you are witnessing in these apostate arrangement. These apostate churches have become a business center founded by these senior pastors that found them after their personal aggrandizement and personal influences. They are not after the interest of Christ; but after their. They are not the church of Christ. The elders theory is for a church founded on the message of the true gospel about Christ by his true disciples as the early church was, but the hear-now senior pastor domination and bewitching influence is a con arrangement founded on twisted and false gospel of the anti Christ generation by its disciples(the wolves). These apostate churches have become the easiest way of opening a multi billion dollar organisation with the greatest free inflow of income every week at the expense of lethargic and lazy great multitude who never care about the TRUTH but heap these con stars upon themselves telling them what makes them feel good. Note Christ said one something profound to the opposing pharisees: that all that came to him were sent by God and he showed them the way to God. Christ never influenced the people by his clever speech; but the power of the true gospel did and this is what the true gospel does. False or twisted gospel is what influences the people to become a disciple of their founder; but never has the power to change a man from doing wrong to doing good i.e knowing good and bad and then the ability to choose good in place of bad. Apostasy is a deviation from the true gospel. This is that period we are in now. Nobody can change. It is a pointer to something if you are a true disciple of Christ
Since the time this was preached the Gospel Coalition has become increasingly unfaithful - with portions drifting into light liberalism and woke theology.
Excellent teaching. How I wish every elder could watch this video!!! May the Lord perfect that which is lacking in his church!

Egypt... Assyria, Babylonian, Persian, Greek, Roman.... We need to know.... Jesus is is Lord... High Priest, Prophet , King....
for me I think the issue is the distinction between a lay elders and staff elders. For me the elders should be ordained amd given clerical collars.
NEVER - we have too many "officials". We need some true called SHEPHERDS.

Should they be true disciples or not, if they should, how can they have family attachment.
All Christians are disciples. And the majority of adult Christians are married. Did I miss something?
"Jesus was a master trainer" you say. You are unnecessarily taking His name in vain.
