The yellow glob (6:12) is supposed to be Vector Sigma, this is backed up, since as Thew pointed out at 13:60 it is present on Ark. (Or at least that what I think its supposed to be)
I was so glad to have this toy announced, I've wanted an Ark toy pretty much since I started watching Transformers, it was always the coolest ship. That it now transforms and has even more history squished into the Mainframe toy attached is even better! Also, its probably gonna be pointed out elsewhere, but the burst effect parts can be used on the Ark's main engines. Though why they gave two burst effects for four engines baffles and kinda infuriates me. Oh well.
Am I the only one who wants this redone into Gobots Thruster? Hasbro owns that one outright due to their purchase of Tonka who created it. Now if only Sky Lynx was also a titan class figure (like he should've been) so he could be remade into the Guardian's Command Center to go against Thruster. Don't get me wrong, I love commander class Sky Lynx but he's too small. Especially to go against Predaking. That's the only pairing that aren't both titans. Hasbro did an incredible job with him at commander class but think of what he would've been like as a titan. Better legs for Sky. Transforming feet for Lynx. Better tails for both. Huge wings with multiple joints. Torso articulation for the two components. Better joints all around. And it would be large enough to at least look like he could go against PotP Predaking. And keep the same base mode. It doesn't take away from anything except possibly any torso articulation for Lynx that could've been added in. It would be fine to not have any for the decent base mode it has.
I do definitely like how he seems like a bot for industry like a lot of the Titans originally were. That makes a lot of sense given the Autobots for mostly worker class people
I missed this when it first went up, so I searched _"thew ark"_ in the UA-cam search box thinking, "Surely a name like 'Thew' combined with Ark in the context of a known Transformers reviewer with 70,000 subscribers will bring up the video I'm after straight away, top pick..?" Somehow (even after ignoring the autocorrect of "Did you mean *_the_*_ ark?"_ which I suppose was inevitable), this video - of Thew reviewing the only reasonably review-able toy of the Ark ever - came up FOURTH in the list. I mean, I could _maybe_ understand if it was a religious thing, with loads of stuff about Noah and the biblical flood and so on, but the first three search results for _"thew ark"_ were some guy whose vlog series was for some reason called "The Ark", a Gerry Rafferty song (?!?) and a video about a Noah-themed _tourist attraction_ in Kentucky... NONE of which likely had the word "thew" in them at ALL unless it was a typo. And I deliberately put that _first_ in the search box so this wouldn't happen!

I think the real problem with the Kingdom beasts is the change in Beast mode design. Whereas when you change the truck Optimus turns into, you’re just changing his alternate mode, but when you change the beast mode look and feel you change the personality of the character. I think we underestimate the charm of those clunky old 90s beast modes and what they contributed to the robots overall. Kind of like how the live action Lion King doesn’t convey the same level of personality that the cartoon did; the “realism” stifles it.
Love the 'Iron Giant' vibes off this big guy. I'm totally on board with Thews appraisal of it reminding him of playing with your toys on the carpet as a kid. Any toy that does that to you as an adult is great to me.
I got to the part where the music plays during the transformation bit and thought, "oh I wonder if Thew is gonna tell us about his drumming escapades?" And then I realized this is a review episode, not a Dammit Open and I got a little sad. I like hearing about Thew's life lol. Anyway, great video!
this far with Kingdom I've enjoyed Cliffjumper and Ractonite. and honestly Ractonite makes me want the other fozilisers as well. Also Animated omega supreem should be an obvius repaint of this thing. also isn't Teletran one the one who in the show after transforming the ark literally saying "I'm tired at sitting by the side lines and not being able to do my part in helping the autobots" or something like that?
When the pictures of this toy first showed up; i thought the bonus robot was just some new nobody we would all soon forget about. Turns out it's actually a new toy for an old Action Master dude, albeit recoloured in Ark/Teletraan-1 yellow, who's claim to fame is occasionally popping up in the comics but never doing anything of note.
Honestly surprises me how many people know transformers but don't know the ship or the name "the ark" I know thats like what transformers is about and it's older now especially but you'd think autobot hq would be more well known
I have to say that I definitely see where you were coming from with the plastic not feeling as high quality. Heck, I could see that it doesn't feel high quality but a big space ship that holds big robots that transforms into an even bigger robot that is a toy that you can play with is pretty freaking awesome so I'm not complaining.
I feel like the Titan class is a really good metaphor for relationships. Like Unicron is a Supermodel, with a rockstar bod and a cosplay career, who everyone goes nuts over. And they are fully aware of it, and expect to be pampered, and require a lot of upkeep. The Ark meanwhile, is a local nerd who’s a little out of shape, but who’s an amazing person who makes you laugh and will talk for hours about your favorite music together. They don’t care about fancy stuff, they just wanna spend time with you. Go find yourselves an Ark Gamers
I mean, I guess Titan class could be a bigger deal if they did characters that kind of fit the requirements of being a Titan, but have yet to be officially be a part of the Titan class as of yet. Like Tidal Wave. Tidal Wave would definitely make me excited.
They had me with Teletraan-1...and then it turned into _fraggin' Mainframe!_ Like...was that necessary? Nobody remembers Mainframe. Nobody cares about Mainframe. Mainframe is background static. And y'know what? That's exactly _why_ it was necessary. Now Mainframe gets to be relevant, and interesting, and have people care about him. Now Mainframe gets a chance to be somebody's favorite. I love it when the weird one-off characters who barely even showed up at all in fiction get brought in for an upgrade--it feels so much fresher than _another_ Bumblebee or Prime or Starscream. Not that I dislike the A-listers, mind you, I just think they feel more special (and less repetitive) after a few rounds of interesting, weird nobody-bots (nobotties?). I can't be the only collector who feels that way, right?
Man, this thing’s a bigger internal scale nightmare than Broadside! Still, I don’t often go for the big bots, but I’m very tempted to get this. So many references! So many extras that didn’t need to be there! It’s got that little drone thing from when the Transformers first got Earth-modes back in G1. What?!
I swear I'm the only collect that not only loves base modes, but dedicates a large portion of his display for them. I've got a skyline happening and I love it.
I can safely agree and add to the pile that the addition of Mainframe was really, really nice. I mean heck, one hell of a glow up don'tcha think? His old figure implied he turned into some old fashioned big computer to fit his nerdy personality - now he turns into Teletraan-1 itself!! God, the amount of cheeky lil callbacks to TF lore AND an updated Action Master - this really is just a nice grab bag of fun.
You should still probably take a break if ya need to, Thew Your videos ain't you if you don't feel you! We like watching you in general, if you feel like doing something non-Transformers we'll still be there viewing whatever you wanna show us
Good review. I love this figure. I was on the fence about buying it when I watched a couple first impression reviews but there was a certain temptation about it. Now I'm glad I got it at a local Target. This thing is AWESOME! I'm keeping it in ship mode and I LOVE the Mainframe Teletran One ! Pure Genius!
My brother got this for my birthday but I'm limited on space so I'm just happy to see it transformed. Details I won't get to see for probably a year. And then I nearly had a heart attack while writing this when teletran-1 popped out.
Very amusing video, lets watch it again to start off the weekend :P By the way last video you mentioned something about reviewing Transformers Animated leader class megatron, can't wait to see that one :) Loved that series second place after G1, since I whatched it when I was 7 or 8 or something (born 1977)
You have to wonder what came first the animated version or the toy itself (or some kind of collaboration between the two.) I have to say It was a great surprised when the ARK transformed in the Kingdom series and even more surprised when they made a toy of it. Awesome review Thew, great to see you back! Please review armchairs, pizza or the weather I don't care it's just great to have your smiling bonce on the tube!
I can imagine the ark just sitting in a massive sort of chair like a throne, waiting for his next job, and once he’s assigned he lets out a long sigh, takes a moment to arise from the chair, cracks his knuckles, and prepares for another mission
Honestly I can’t recommend the beasties enough but getting all the little bastards for a display together looks amazing because they all look so bloody different and ngl, part of me would love to see you review them in your style
I had never seen anything about this bot before your vid. So when I heard you say that they made a toy of Teletraan 1, I literally shouted "What?!" out loud. A similar reaction when you said they gave it a robot mode
"they don't do light piping anymore...spring loaded gimmicks are a thing of the past..." then you proceed to reveal a spring loaded gimmick and GLORIOUS light piping. But seriously, an Omega Supreme repaint would be nice and all, but I want this thing to be made into the Enterprise Transformer from the Star Trek crossover, give us our Tiberious Maximus figure!
I've got two Titan Class figures. I've been trying to keep it that way because they're so huge and expensive, but I'm not sure if I can when the Ark looks this good and feeds into my love for Transformers lore this much.

Great review and welcome back. This and a Halloween ep to still come? Amazing lad, amazing
"Big Ark Ruffalo" 😂 brilliant
Great video, I really dig the music you used
Theres an amazing addon or two that adds fillers for those sides and some really fitting stickers.
Your enthusiastic bubblyness is loved.
This is the first video of yours that I've seen, and I might just have to subscribe now.
I love the style of this guy. Less blocky and made-of-boxes than so many big boys, more fun angles and curves.
HEH, that Beastie Boys pun gave me a good giggle! Happy to see another review out, Thew!
What?!
For a while, I was not sure if he was going to mention the Last Autobot.
You should still probably take a break if ya need to, Thew
Your videos ain't you if you don't feel you!
And then I nearly had a heart
attack while writing this when teletran-1 popped out.
Very amusing video, lets watch it again to start off the weekend :P
By the way last video you mentioned something about reviewing Transformers Animated leader class megatron, can't wait to see that one :) Loved that series second place after G1, since I whatched it when I was 7 or 8 or something (born 1977)
The Ark is the first and only Titan I've pre-ordered. Ark and Trypticon are now battling for floor supremacy
Thew, your videos really are one of a kind! Swift and amazing it feels like barely a minute has passed by when the video ends
Mainframe also appears in TF Animated as a background character.
With colours of red and blue, this filing cabinet will rock you!!!!
Second time after watching thus from a while ago and goddamnit, the Inhaling Optimus joke always gets me lmao
I held off watching this until Friday night, just so I can start my weekend off the right way. Thew my brother, you did not disappoint!
00:45 I HATE myself for how long it took me to get this joke. Thew, you madlad!
This toy is louder than a jet jeez transforming it late at night is hell lol
I can imagine the ark just sitting in a massive sort of chair like a throne, waiting for his next job, and once he’s assigned he lets out a long sigh, takes a moment to arise from the chair, cracks his knuckles, and prepares for another mission
Honestly I can’t recommend the beasties enough but getting all the little bastards for a display together looks amazing because they all look so bloody different and ngl, part of me would love to see you review them in your style
"Arklife"
Oh my god, I'm SO angry at you right now!
Had to scroll waaaay too far down for some Blur recognition. All the robots, so many robots, and they all go hand in hand...
I had never seen anything about this bot before your vid. So when I heard you say that they made a toy of Teletraan 1, I literally shouted "What?!" out loud. A similar reaction when you said they gave it a robot mode
oh damn i didnt expect you to review the ark
DANG, Ark really does have that vibe of "simple toys from the 90s".
Ok, hands down my favorite quote from you is "Oh, potato potatrix!" 😆
Us Unicron Trilogy fans desperatly waiting that Tidal Wave Titan figure
