Dr Collison, Thank you for a very interesting and informative talk, having checked my own colonies this weekend and finding them not as forward as I might expect I was starting to doubt my ability as a bee keeper but you have given me hope that by giving my bees the right nutrition it can be put right .Here in Herefordshire England our main crop early in the year is Oil seed rape which flowers in the first weeks of April, so our bees need to be at full potential by the beginning of march. It seems to me that this would bee almost impossible to achieve with our weather but I will take on board your tips on nutrition and try to build them up earlier. I will be following your talks from now on, Thanks again for departing your knowledge to us all on UA-cam, Phil Andrews.
Dr. Collison, do you think that it is necessary to have 2 deep brood chambers to reach that magic 60,000 bees, or can the apiarist manage frame space needed for food stores with addition/subtraction of supers and keep the brood space to a single deep chamber?
Thanks Dr. Collison, and the crew at the club that made this happen. Great talk bite sized and enjoyable.
