After starting to watch the second season of "The Bridge" today, I finally, finally, looked up that song that haunted and delighted me from the very first time I've heard it. It makes me so happy that I can listen to the entire song now. It's truly beautiful.
I watched The Bridge a few years ago. Superb show, one of my favourites. I noticed there were a lot reviewers on IMDB, saying not to watch it, but watch the European version instead, luckily I didn't listen to them, but I think many did, which lost the show a lot of viewers. Anyway, loved the haunting theme tune, but only looked it up a few months ago, and was shocked to see it was the guitar player and singer in Yellowstone, I didn't realise he was an established country singer. The show really was too damn good to be cancelled, easily as good as Snowfall, some same actors as well.
FX’s The Bridge brought ME here long ago. I believe that when a show LIKE The Bridge gets canceled, it’s not because of low viewership… …it’s because of what the show and its creators have to “say”. Apparently, what was “said” ruffled quite a few feathers!!!

You see, my dad’s passed on 2 years now and every time I hear your song it makes me think of my mom - 99 years old, confused, alone in a retirement home. Actually, it's overtly romantically suggestive, which is one of the most powerful things about literature in music, and in general, it can mean a multitude of different things to different people. But thanks for letting me know his mother died of alcoholism, that does open up more meanings to this beautiful song.

I became addicted to this song last year the first night watching " the bridge". I went out and bought Ryan's CD. I think " The Bridge" captures so much of the culture of the border from the Great Big wonderful State of Texas, and Mexico. The plot, takes you in, the characters are fantastic. What a great choice in picking this song from Ryan. He is a cowboy - talented through and through, that can make this Rhode Island clam digger girl, come to tears listening thinking about that man - I will never see again.

Low ratings and no statistical chance of gains in possible season 3. Which is how John Landgraf head of FX summed it up. For me its a shift in brand priority. Instead of being a place for critical darlings they want a couple shows that massive hits e.g. The Walking Dead. Sons Of Anarchy waa that for a time and loss the majority of its critical praise by season 5 and 6 but it has massive ratings for a basic cable network.

This is an amazing arrangement and I'd only guess that T-Bone was helping Bingham when this was produced. The haunting melody is deepened with the sparse use of plucked strings and a very hollow and deep delay. The first time I heard it, it just grabbed me and it's perfect for this show.

One of the best shows I've ever run across. Was absolutely riveted by it. CIA has been doing this for years. There are many allegations of CIA drug smuggling when it suited their purpose. From opium in Afghanistan and Laos to cocaine in Arkansas. The Mexican drug war and the Contras. And it goes on and on. Panama. Venezuela. And these are the only ones that have leaked out. The movie, "Air America", hinted at some of the CIA's indiscretions. It is too bad they cancelled "The Bridge" so early. Probably getting a little too close to the truth and the government was starting to get nervous. Gary Webb wrote a very interesting book on it called, "Dark Alliance". If you can still find it it's a VERY interesting read. Webb's death was ruled a suicide with TWO gunshot wounds to the head.
Yeah, don't forget Barry Seal, and the Arkansas connection.When I heard Tom Cruise was playing him, I Knew they weren't going to touch the truth with a 10ft. pole and give the sanitized hollywood version. His testimony,had he lived to tell it, could've been the pivotal crossroad that might of changed the course of history in this country. Loved the show and Ryan's music sent me here.

Too bad for you that can't evolve along with the music, but for us true fans, it just leaves more room at the live concerts! Just got the 2 newest Ryan Bingham releases and they're really good from what I've heard. Truely underrated artist. This guy should be getting Grammy nominations.

Just got the 2 newest Ryan Bingham releases and they're really good from what I've heard. Truely underrated artist. This guy should be getting Grammy nominations.
