In short, it depends. If it was an ad from the company themselves, then you'd still get credited for the sale. However, if it was an affiliate advertising and the user arrived at the store via somebody else's affiliate link after yours, then that affiliate would get the sale :)
There will only ever be 1 affiliate cookie & in most cases, this will contain the ID of the last referring affiliate (as most programs use the last-click attribution model). If, in the rare instance, a program is using first-click attribution then the first referrer will get the commission. So, in short, 99% of the time it will be the affiliate whos link was clicked last. If your cookie is set, and the customer returns via another affiliate link, that affiliate will get credited for the sale.
Is it not possible to make fake emails and sign up to your own affiliate link from a separate device to get paid? (I know it’s fraud, I’m just asking if it’s possible) as surely the business could be paying people for false advertisement
What do you do if you still want to promote a product but the cookie has expired?
You'd just have to get the person to click via your affiliate link again. That will re-add the cookie :)
What if they clicked on ads from a google ad later on ? will I get their sale ?

@@livingmoreworkingless like for example: Expedia , would it still count? Thank you, I couldn’t find the answer to this on google
What if the cookie A is overshadowed by cookie B for the same product by a different entity, who would get the sale?

It's possible, but if you do it enough times to earn anything substantial, you'll be caught. There are so many different ways that you can be tracked.
