The estimate for Bratislava from the organisers is 60,000. Someone claiming to be an expert says it was between 35,000 and 40,000. Regardless, it is magnificent result. Under the banner of "Slovensko je Európa" there were 23 rallies. Among them Košice 15,000, Banská Bystica were we were tonight just over 10,000, Nitra 4-5,00. There were rallies organised tonight by others including Levice 1,500. In total, over 100,000 turned up at rallies on this freezing cold evening .... that is nearly 2% of the Country's entire population. It might not seem much when put like that but there weren't any children that I could see and many parents were at home looking after their children. Many who might have come were working or were ill. There are many times as many people who are sympathetic but not energised enough to get up from in front of the television, after all, when was the last time that YOU went out to a political rally, possibly a 20 or 40 mile round trip, on a freezing cold night. Now that people have seen the old corruption creeping back and witnessed a coalition government making changes that were not in their manifestos, the result of a new general election next week would produce a very different result from the general election last year.
