Wowww... watching the video in lockdown.. peaceful to the eyes 🤗 recapitulation of memory of 2007 when I visited himachal trip. We stayed in the tent in Chitkul valley. The cloud was coming inside the tent it was wonderful experience 😊

You might not get clear view of mountains in this time. Rain will start at any time. Land slides are another problem. May & June is perfect time to visit.

Kufri - Kalpa is around 200 km. I think it will be a lot of travel considering hilly area. Your 2nd plan sounds more practical except the last day Narkanda to Delhi. @@LongDrive I have done Delhi Manali (to and fro) without break journey many a times so thus i feel i can do Narkanda -Delhi, too. And thus i have changed my 1st halt from Kufri to Narkanda. So i will be doing Delhi-Narkanda all night, arrive Narkanda in morning and have rest. And next day Narkanda -Kalpa, how about that?
Sahil as drivers we are rough & tough no doubt about it. But you may wanna consider some comfort level for your wife / son too. If they have been on similar long drives, then go for it, otherwise do consider taking more halts and rest. The trip is not just about to reach from A to B, but enjoy from A to B. Good luck!

I have been watching these videos for some time. These places are breathtakingly beautiful. But aren't the roads improved and sturdy railings as we find in some places. Surely bith locals and tourists have right to good roads and power connections throughout?

Its a regular / permanent bridge. You will find many of these bridges in Ladakh / Kinnaur / Spiti

In Chitkul, theres a small turn which goes down to the Baspa river. You can ask anyone there
