This dark style suits her the best. The reason I fell in love with Banks all the way back was the unusual production, the emotion in her voice and the overall dark/moodiness of her music. I felt the last album lost some of that but this shows she's still got it!

What I’m getting at, though, is that even if some forms of expression may be uncomfortable to experience, it can still be necessary for the conversations they create. The opportunity to explore the human experience and the opportunity to understand why someone does what they do. I think that being appealing all the time can be numbing to some extents, but that’s just how I feel.
It seems we’re both admirers of Banks, do you happen to know of any other artists with similar styles?

These new tracks require you to give them multiple listens to fully feel their vibe. If you’re a passive listener you aren’t gonna dig it and that’s fine. Don’t say her music has gotten worse tho simply bc it isn’t as accessible to you as her past releases. This slaps, The Devil slaps and I’m sure the album will too.
Idk why i keep seeing comments on this song being different. This is definitely BANKS vibes from when I started listening to her. That comforting & empowering feeling.
This song doesn’t really sound much different (vibe wise) than her other releases imo. She doesn’t really have “a sound” to me. I think some og fans just feel some type of way about newer fans for w.e weird ass reason lol.

BANKS is literally a musical genius, but most importantly an artist. She doesn't write music or make songs just to sound "nice." ALL of her songs are works of art, multi-faceted, each filled with subliminal messages, and deep meanings. Each time she sings, we can feel her emotions and energy. Each song represents a chapter in her life and just to see her evolve through her music is just magical. Love you Goddess!

I don’t really know how to explain the way Banks’ music makes me feel. It feels like floating in a futuristic world. Banks is literal art!!
I think that she's telling us that she's letting her old self go and evolving, specially in that scene when she goes into the dark dancing just like she danced to Gimme and Till Now... And she really said that this song is about letting go. This is what I love the most about her, she knows how to turn anything into something beautiful, even the pain of letting go

There are so many references to her other songs in this it’s insane. I keep finding more. This is her letting go of the past. It’s brilliant and beautiful.
