Animal Rescue, Hurricane Harvey, Houston Texas 5 Year Anniversary

5 years... when I arrived for my 1st assignment, we were tasked with saving humans in flooded Cypress. The humans had a chance to evacuate when the hurricane flood warnings were issued. Then, I was told there were dozens of vet clinics and pet boarding facilities that were flooded. In a matter of minutes, these volunteers came together to get every animal to safety. These animals didn't have an evacuation plan. They had no warning... They had no options. Many were carried into our rescue boats, some actually jumped. They remained calm yet they were obviously frightened. The second they got their paws on dry land, they were safe... we didn't lose an animal. I am very grateful to all those who helped with this rescue. It was inspiring, that's why I recorded it.
