    In today's video we review Cú Chulainn at Tayto Park outside of Dublin, Ireland - the longest, tallest and fastest roller coaster ever built in Ireland. The Gravity Group wooden coaster is unquestionably the best roller coaster Ireland has ever seen, but with Tayto Park building two new coasters in 2023, could it possibly be topped in the coming years? In this video we talk about the future of coasters at Tayto Park and Ireland as a whole, give our complete thoughts on The Cú Chulainn Coaster, and rank Tayto Park's signature attraction on the Park Pros coaster rating tier list. Make sure to like the video, subscribe to the channel, and enjoy!

      Hi airtime thrills (ik you posted this a year ago lol), I love your videos. If your ever in Europe then this soater is my personal favourite of 56 credits and I love having tayto as my home park. Also the tayto chips are kind of a regional dish in Ireland. Sorry ik this is sort of a pointless channel but its good to see people actually achnowlege Ireland for it's coasters

    Thank you for this excellent review and history of Cu Chulainn. It is a coaster to be proud of and it will always be beloved, even with the new Vekomas coming soon. Rumor has it that they will be delayed until 2024 now but Cu Chulainn will keep me going back to Tayto once a month regardless. The Vekoma family coaster, Dino Dash, has been a good addition to the lineup for 2022, helping the park recover after Covid.

    I‘ve ridden the two new Tripsdrill Coasters a few weeks ago. They are a perfect addition and the STC especially is one heck of a ride. It’s definitely the best Inverted Coaster i‘ve been on (ok, that’s not saying much). It’s glossy smooth not too intense, yet features nice geforces and awesome lap bars (imo even better than Mack‘s).
    I think they will fit Tayto Park pretty well!

    I visited Tayto Park for the first time about a month after you did! I'm glad that I rode Cú Chulainn and Flight School because those are also my rarest coaster credits; however, I didn't get the best park experience during my visit. Cú Chulainn and Flight School only ran with one train which made it hard for me to get a front or back row ride, the park was crowded, I didn't go into the potato chip factory, and I only had 2 hours to ride everything! That being said, I think Tayto Park is one of the most photogenic parks I have ever been to, I loved Viking Voyage, their zoo was cool, and I have bragging rights that I have been there! In addition, the new coasters, re-riding Cú Chulainn, and visiting the potato factory gives me a really good reason why to go back! I wish I didn't have to go overseas to visit this park!

    The Gravity Group and Martin and Vleminckz (who I believe erected this coaster) make some of the best wood coasters ever. I feel we don't give them enough credit like we do with like GCI or RMC.

  • @TonyKimtheamusementparkfan
    @TonyKimtheamusementparkfan 3 роки тому

    I think the way that The Gravity Group builds their rides is why they can be a bit shaky, but still very comfortable. I think with them, they build their rides more in the sense of a traditional wood coaster, and you can feel those imperfections, but master craftsmanship. Yes, there's GCI, but it seems their wood coasters, despite the structure still built like a traditional wood coaster, their rides seem to have more precision build into the track and offers a far smoother experience. I think for those who truly want to feel the experience of a true wood coaster, The Gravity Group fits that description, although GCI is also up there.

    Fun fact: tayto park is only named such because of sponsorship reasons. A bit like how 'SoFi Stadium' is named after the sponsor 'SoFi ' or the 'Aviva Stadium', Irelands home rugby and football venue, is named after the insurance company Aviva. I heard that sponsorship agreement is ending soon. Will be sad.

    As cool as the two new coasters will be, I hope the demand is there. Part of me thinks there is a reason Ireland went so long without a park, and now only has one... I hope the gp can support it long term! The two additions are great ones.

    • @ParkPros

      Park Pros Ireland does get a lot of tourism - the fifth highest per capita in Europe - but amusement parks aren’t in their culture. Also, in these small, long-settled countries like Ireland and Scotland, zoning and development laws are very strict so as to preserve the land and the culture.
      But certainly Ireland and even more so Scotland have pathetically little for the coaster enthusiast. Both still mind-blowingly great countries to visit, though.
