I've owned a lot of bikes in the past, even a Gixxer 600 back in the day, and every one offered something a little different. I don't hate on any brand, but maybe because I've owned so many. Seems the ones that hate the most, have ridden the least. I looked at a Gixxer 1k when I got this bike, a black and red one, and the only reason I didn't even consider it after sitting on it, was because the heel of my right foot rested on the exhaust can each time I sat on it. I figured that if that kept happening while I was at the dealer, it would happen if I bought it. That was the only reason I passed on it. In its category are bikes like the S1K and Ducati V4. Those bikes are a few grand more, and IMO, not worth it unless you make the jump to $25-$30k and start looking at S models and the R1M, at which point I’d solidly choose the BMW.

I need to make up my mind on an exhaust first really. I’ve heard but can’t confirm, that BT is dialing in tunes for various pipes. I’m sure a Graves tunes differently than an SC Project. Only makes sense. I’m kind of waiting to see how pipes turn out with the tune. Motonosity has an SC Project and if you watch his video after getting the tune, he sounds happy, but not ecstatic like I thought. Personally, I’m really more excited about the fan temperature change more than anything because it gets so hot here in Florida.
@@IShootPixels for that exhaust, maybe you need to confirm AFR post flashing and send a recorded video to Bren tuning. But mostly that low fan temp is a bliss for a motorcycle that runs hot in traffic and day to day riding
I love the styling, even though I know a lot of people didn’t like the front end. What Yamaha needs to do now is refresh the engine and electronics. They’re really dated at this point.
I’m 6’2” give it take an inch and I can do several hours on it without an issue, even at my age. I prefer Sportbikes, and if anything gets sore, it would probably be my wrists, but even that is after 2-3 hours of riding. My longest stint on it was about 5-6 hours, getting off here and there to stop and get gas or a drink.
Agree with above statement. I'm also above 6 foot and it's doable. I'd rather be uncomfortable then ride anything else. Nothing compares to an unrestricted r1 with a project sc exhaust. The sound is beyond explanation and is addictive!
and forget about the BMW. once you get that slip-on and that flash, the sound of the bike will make you smile for the rest of your life and your next life also. Also, I run with my high beams on also...it balances her out well.
Currentlylooking at Akra and Arrow. Graves has the one I REALLY want, but as of two weeks ago, the only way to get it for a 2021 was to pay an extra $125 to have the 2020 midpipe modified for the 2021 due to the O2 sensors. That puts the price for midpipe and can at over $2000 and I just don't know if it's worth it.
I'll also add this, now that I'm past breaking and have been working her a bit more, the stock exhaust has definitely gotten louder. She's popping on upshifts nearly every time.
@@IShootPixels same here I just hit 1,900 miles so I would say I'm at the end of the break in stage 😅 the akra is good choice 👌 my self I'm looking for the sc project or austin racing! The prices for just a little over 2ft of titanium are mind blowing🤯
@@codyhosking4833 I like the AR exhaust. @Motonosity has it, I just haven't heard it in person. I want one that'll keep the growl of the CP4, rather than one that makes it sound like a Honda. lol
I actually just talked about this in one of the videos I just put up, haha. I can only compare it to the Panigale and the CBR, but it’s far more comfortable than either one of those. I haven’t risen the ZX-10R or the S1000rr yet.

I usually ride pretty chill except for curves. Most curves don’t have side roads so I’m less likely to have someone pull out in front of me. Who’d have thought curves would be the safest place to ride. Haha
It’s really going to depend on how tall or short you are. The reach to the bars is around 23 inches. I say “around” because I measured from my belt buckle to the steering head. I have a 34 inch inseam so I can flat foot just about anything, but if you’re legs are shorter you might be on your toes. That said, the pegs are low so I don’t feel like my feet are right under my butt and my knees don’t hurt when riding for any length of time. Overall, by Ducati 749 was a LOT LESS comfortable. I think one of the things that all R1s are noted for is that they are one of the most comfortable liter bikes out, and have been for years
Firstly, is money an option because the R1 is under $18k USD and the base V4 is $22k USD. The V4S is clocking in around $28k. Then there’s the cost of maintenance. My local Ducati dealer charges $150 per hour and my Yamaha dealer is $100. And then there part cost. After that I can say IMO the R1 is much more comfortable and FAR LESS hot. The Ducati’s always feel boiling hot under the seat. Every one I’ve ever owned or ridden. Rider aids are the same on both and both offer very similar power. It’s my opinion, but I don’t think the base V4 is worth the extra money. If you figure that the Duc is $4k more, that would buy so great upgrades for the R1 and with the new BrenTuning option that’s going out, it’ll be a lot quicker.
@@IShootPixels You are absolutely right mate, thanks for your valuable reply. Thank you. This was one of my first, and probably, worst. Lol
Need to get the clear coat protection on it and a 3/4 exhaust system then you will be good
If you can please get the ECU flash From Bren tuning for your R1
Yes..Handsome looking bike or aestheticly SEXY..Yamaha does not immitate but just being original without trying so hard..😻😎🤩
I love the styling, even though I know a lot of people didn’t like the front end. What Yamaha needs to do now is refresh the engine and electronics. They’re really dated at this point.
I’m get the R7 first then a few year later I’ll get the R1M if not r1. And I do love the color blue
How are the ergonomics? Comfortable enough?
I say "um" an awful lot. Sorry about that.
no worries. Good video and congrats. You got the best bike going. Good choice.
and forget about the BMW. once you get that slip-on and that flash, the sound of the bike will make you smile for the rest of your life and your next life also. Also, I run with my high beams on also...it balances her out well.
@@IamLaR1 they still haven't released a flash. Bothersome the they don't.
Flash incoming from BrenTuning. They’ve cracked the ECU and are now working on remapping
@@IShootPixels STFU hold the fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkk uuppppppppppppppp. 💎💎⚡⚡🌋🌋❣️❣️ Yo I'm legit ecstatic.
I have the 2021 which exhaust do you plan on going with???
I want one that'll keep the growl of the CP4, rather than one that makes it sound like a Honda. lol
@@IShootPixels I think Motonosity has an SC Project not an AR
Yooo man! You go to pure power sports bike nights?
god damn holy shit i recognize that ikea. Thats wild
Don’t they all look the same? Lol.
is it as uncomfortable as everyone sooks about?
I actually just talked about this in one of the videos I just put up, haha. I can only compare it to the Panigale and the CBR, but it’s far more comfortable than either one of those. I haven’t risen the ZX-10R or the S1000rr yet.
You do get used to it. Long distance traveling can be taxing.
👍👍🏽👍👍🏽👍👍🏽
That’s a huge watch😂
Haha. Thanks. I love Invicta watches because they’re huge and not all that expensive. 👍
He's from Florida. What else would you expect?
lmfao, Florida bro... i dint even ride much anymore, almost got run over soo many times! have to be DEFENSIVE ASF
That’s a lot of the reason I stopped listening to music when I ride. I feel like I need my head on a swivel all of the time.
@@IShootPixels I moved to Florida about 2 years ago, Started riding the gsxr alot again, mostly chill slow riding as my days of hospital visits dont seem as fun anymore 🤣... Even puttin around in gated communities ya have to worry that they dont see you, yellow bike, put on loud asf straight thru exhaust, i even rev TF out of it when i get around cars... they literally just pull in front or right onto you STILL.🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
@@bitrage. haha. Yup. That’s also why I don’t really lane split. They move over into you even when you don’t do it, and if you scream past them and lane split, they jump and almost squash you. Lol. I usually ride pretty chill except for curves. Most curves don’t have side roads so I’m less likely to have someone pull out in front of me. Who’d have thought curves would be the safest place to ride. Haha
@@IShootPixels Hit me up if your eva in the Bradenton/Ellington/Parrish area riding.
@@bitrage. 👍
best looking bike :D
how's the seating position comfort wise?

I'm really confused btwn Panigale V4 and R1, can anyone suggest the right one?
Firstly i was also tilting towards the R1 for the reason that Ducatis heat up more compared to R1, and commonly we need to pay extra bugs to buy and maintain ducatis. Now i have set to R1❤️. Btwn I'm from India. Here too Ducatis are heavy to maintain. But buying an R1 will definitely make worth as it's Japanese, you just buy and maintain, no worries of reliability at all. ❤️🇮🇳❤️

The BMW S1000RR engine is really buzzy. It has tons of vibration. I don't like that bike. R1 is a way better bang for the buck bike. Also BMW had loads of issues and recalls with s1000rr in the past. Great choice. I'm gonna ditch my SUZUKI GSXR1000 2015 real soon and buy the black R1
id never want part of a liter bike
audio is terrible
sorry BMW sucks, lol enjoy the least reliable along with the Italian lot... no seriously, get Japanese and you can be sure it will start every time you try to fire that thing up.
yeah you should of got the bmw
