I wonder if you could tell me what the name of your campsite was near to Chamonix. We are doing Lake Garda this summer and would like to go to Chamonix for the day just as you did but I’m having trouble finding a campsite near that accepts twin axles. Thank you.
Love the Gopro shots from the front of the caravan. Great video. Regarding speed limits in France I believe its only 90km/h on the motorway with a unit of combined weight over 3.5 tonne.
Just saw this - For caravans (and motorhomes) under 3.5 tonnes, the limit is 50kmh in built up areas, 90kmh on single carriageway /trunk roads, 110 kmh on dual carriageways and 130kmh motorways.
I don't agree with the way the Gross weight is calculated (max permissible weight of car plus max permissible weight of caravan) . My towing outfit is a Volvo XC90 B5 combined with a Swift Challanger. The actual weight I tow at is less than 3.5t but on paper the max permissible total exceeds 3.5t.. The theoretical figure is what they use not the actual on the road figure.
@@stephenoliver2495 although my outfit comes in over 3.5t I do agree with it, how would the police know the exact weight of your outfit without weighing it, whereas using the theoretical plated max weight is simple to ascertain. The problem comes when I’ve had a smaller BMW active tourer towing a 1300kg caravan that I was allowed to tow at 80mph then changed my car to a heavier more stable BMW X3 that then limited me to a max speed of 56mph - obviously I didn’t tow at 80mph but there was nothing to legally stop me

Should be ok - we got another @5yrs
Unimpressed with the campsite. Pitches small and catered for motor homes really.
We found them good but I suppose we tend to be out & about & don’t really stay on the site - each to their own I suppose
We stayed at this site in 2022. Some very bit pitches if you book them specifically.
