I may be wrong, but here's how I interpreted what he said: Stop blaming everyone else for the state of the French language. If you respond in English, business owners will continue hiring unilingual anglophones. It starts with you; buy from businesses that serve you in French. Before people start attacking me, I'm not saying if I agree or not. I'm only sharing how I interpreted the statement after having listened to the entire episode.
