The more I watch this film, the more heartened I am by it. It manages to be utterly comforting and reassuring, and NOT schmaltzy, all at once. I think that Edmund Gwenn has to go on my list of Delightful Voices (yes, I have a list) and I cannot think of anyone better suited to portraying Santa than him. Merry Christmas, All.
Edmund Gwen also in the original and best Lassie Come Home
Best Christmas movie ever!! 🎅🏻✨
10out of 10. YES!!!
I don't know why, but my favorite scene is when Kris Kringle has the conversation (and sings the song) with the little Dutch orphan girl. I always watch this movie in July (Christmas in July!) and probably thirty times during the holiday season. An interesting little bit of trivia: the Catholic church condemned this movie when it first came out. The reason? The Church was upset that Catholic Maureen O'Hara plays a divorced woman who gets romantically involved with another man! I'm sure the Church softened its opinion by now.LOL. Love your very enjoyable reviews.
Love your reviews! Keep up the good work!
I absolutely love your taste in films. All of the films you review are among my favorites.
I wish some esteemed reviewer could someday do a review of these Kitty Hollywood videos. Each one of which is in itself an exquisite production. The information, the insights, the humor, the use of the music of each movie, the infectious joy and appreciation for the movies.......and so much more. I find Kitty utterly captivating. I send much gratitude to Kitty for her sharing of her delight and appreciation for OLD Hollywood's magnificent and magical creations. Thank you, Kitty, and God bless you. Love from an admirer in San Diego, California.
I agree I love it!
Your fun!
Nice job. And yes it is a 10 out of 10
