Nice video, whilst I like the city related ones, one like this in a forest setting I just find calming ... I think it's all the green. It's nice to see it as well as it not the sort of place I'll be able to go to in Japan as I don't drive which limits my access to them.
Hi Norm Omg so beautiful I would of spent hour's there taking photos 📷 the stairs would of killed me but the shrine would of been worth it in the end. 😃😍💙💙👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👋👋👋👋
I can never get past just how beautiful and surreal the scenery is there. These videos just keep bolstering my excitement and cant wait till I can finnally take my trip.
Been there 5 years ago, it was full of snow and I was traveling on my own, I loved every second of the journey and I am dying to go back. thank you for bring back happy memories!
Norm...wow. Some parts of this video were just heartbreakingly beautiful (the huge amazing trees with sunlight filtering through; the drums in the temple), then juxtaposed with the humorous bits like Taiki looking at his phone un his shirt! Looks like an awesome part of the adventure; thanks for sharing it with us :)
The background music is perfect for this peaceful forest. So peaceful and calming. Beautiful forest. Never heard of this place so I thank you for showing it to us
Another magical video ♥ The music you picked to go with the trees at the start was perfect, and those trees look amazing. I can see why people travel there for pics. The shrine itself is very quaint, and as you said - humble. I've always read that it's never about the destination - it's the journey that you take to get there. The people that you meet along the way, the route that you travel, how long or slow it takes you to get there. Life itself is a journey. *adds to list of places to visit*
Awww I’m really glad that you enjoyed it as much It actually took me longer to choose the music for this video than it took me to edit it But I’m glad it all worked out! A very worthwhile visit if I do say so myself 😊
@@TokyoLens I always enjoy your videos - they're either informative, fun or a mix of both. And your style of telling a story about each placeis easy on the ears. The music - worth the time to find in my opinion.
That place looks incredible: giant tree-lined paths, moss-covered structures that seem ancient, verdant foliage...I agree that it has a Ghibli-esque look and feel to it...I couldn't have said it better myself!!! And then we see the shrine...absolutely beautiful!!! I have to commend you on your camera work for your videos!...you really bring out the beauty and majesty of each place you visit!!! Do you use a drone for those sweeping overhead shots? Superb video!!!
Binging through all your videos and just watching this I can tell that no matter how many of these mountain shrines I'd visit, I'd never get tired of those beautiful views.
Always love coming back to videos like this. This spot pops up online all the time so rather than just the "instagram spot" I appreciate you capturing the rest of its beauty for us to see!
Beautiful places like this on our Earth and people keep focused on other planets... Thank you for unraveling these magical landscapes and allowing us to experience the sights at least once in our lives.
This place looks incredible, even withought you saying it I felt like it was took right from a Ghibli movie.. amzingggg! more like Ghibli took inspiration from the local nature to be more accurate. Love it, I keep adding up places I want to check on my next trip to Japan (if it'll be sometime soon) thank you for showing us these amazing unique places!
100% agree with you mate - when a massive entrance leads to something quite humble (in comparison), it evokes a feeling of satisfaction that is hard to describe. Great video mate
Beautiful and peaceful. This is the type of places I love visiting in Japan and getting there is half the fun. It's like a mini-vacation within a vacation. I was planning on visiting this shrine for my 2020 Japan vacation when Covid happened. Thinking of doing it this year too, but Japan is still not allowing international tourists just yet. I might have to settle for a 2022 trip. Thank you for sharing this place.
Really been loving the content recently Norm! The beautiful places you've been to, combined with the cinematography and the stories told have made for a really nice respite from the situation in the outside world. Also massively appreciate the switch to 4K for said content, if nothing else because UA-cam doesn't murder the quality as badly as it does 1080p. It really helps bring these places to life through a screen.
I recently discovered your channel, your videography is beautiful. I also love that your videos take place out of the cities. Every time I watch a video I think now this is Japan.
Welcome to the adventure!! I have a love for road trips And I try to squeeze in a few every year If you enjoy the out of the city stuff There are a ton of previous road trips to catch up on that have some incredible spots If you end up doing a binge, be sure to leave me a trail of comments so I can follow along!

Hey Norm, discovered your channel a few weeks back and for the last 2 weeks, I've been absorbing everything you've produced, from the beardless Norm from 6 years ago to young Norm from 15 years ago. First time posting a comment thou, wanted to let you know I've been in a rather dark place for a few months now and your content has helped me focus on what is important.. see I've always been the guy that keeps an eye on the destination and never really paid much attention to the journey, I'm going to change that about me and pick myself out of this rut and make something great of the time I've been given.
