ua-cam.com/video/vVrPo_SichE/v-deo.html Hi Jenna 👋 Do you know this young couple? They have a baby 👶 under 1 year old and ...they r rocking a VAN tiny vacation home 🏡... hope u do a collaborative video with them. 😃
I just bought a 1971 Trails West Campster to restore/personalize - looks very similar. I love your ideas, they really help, and I am so excited! Just retired at 70, and LETS GO CAMPING!
From the start, Ryan was very helpful and is continuing to be helpful about his ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxGqOCINHE0Z0E5gxzSdNi9NWGugRY5Hm2 Plans . Also, they have answered all the questions I have asked & I got outstanding support from his My Shed Plans full package.
Jenna, I recently purchased a hybrid popup trailer and have been modifying it also. It is very similar to yours but this one has a drop down back wall that can make into an extra room. Like yours I have a portapotty and no hotwater or shower either. I was able to make a throw together room out of 1 inch pvc pipe that breaks down into four single rods with fittings glued and four upper rods that support the four corners. It goes up really fast and then you can use harbor freight velcro wrap straps to hang cloth siding. Then I rigged a 110 volt on demand shower head commonly used by the Brazilians. the shower head hooks up to a fitting on the side of the trailer so it will use either electric pumped water from the trailer or city water from the trailer. If you want to see pictures let me know.
Hello Jenna. Enjoyed your video. We have a 1966 Wagonette, made in UK, and we think it is the only one left. We exhibit it at classic caravan rallies. Like your van, the door is at the back. When we first saw it it was rotting in a back garden, full of metal shelving and spiders. My husband who is a joiner by trade ripped all the rotten plywood out, and rebuilt the inside. It is quite something! So - awning - we bought a porch awning on ebay, had the width reduced, installed an awning rail (both ends of the van are fibreglass), and we also had a canopy awning made. We have a submersible pump, a child's paddling pool, some old awning poles, cheapie shower curtain, and with these aids, we can have a shower. We did try the solar shower bag but in the UK, we needed to add hot water to it, our summers generally are not too warm. I look forward to seeing the finished van, happy camping. Susan (wife of Edward in UK).
Hey guys! I know it's been awhile since I posted the "BEFORE" video, but I promise the "AFTER" video is coming soon. I took the camper on a long road trip late last summer and realized it still needed a lot of work. Then, before I knew it, winter hit! I'm finishing the camper - NAMED APOLLO - this spring. So I'll post a new video soon. Thanks for hanging in there. If you'd like to see more photos and articles about Apollo, check it out here: tinyhousegiantjourney.com/category/vintage-camper/ And on the dedicated instagram: instagram.com/apollothecamper/
Hey Jenna! I love your videos and have to ask if your boyfriend was with you when you lived around Mt. Hood? Your video made it seem like you lived there with your dog. If your boyfriend did live with you then what complications did you come across? Thanks!
Instead of glass, maybe think about Lexan sheets. You can buy them at Orchard Supply Hardware, or online from TAP plastics. You cut them to fit yourself, using the same frames as you already have and you can double them up if you want them thicker. I used them in a camp trailer I built and put window tint between the layers, keeping it from getting scratched. You can get colored tint film, too. (Think yellow windows, or contrast red or blue with your yellow trailer. Just for fun!) Good luck with your renovation! Happy trails!
I would not only get that toilet on a pullout shelf like you said but on a lazy susan too, so you can get leg room. This tiny camper is sweet. Good for you Jenna. I love the color it is too. ~Smile! (Name - Sunflower)
Ciecie Newson I lazy Suzi is that circular type shelf mostly in corners ...but how would you use that you mean to swivel it? Why not just turn it side ways on the pull out lol
Oh I don't know, it looked like it wasn't square and didn't fit in the drawer if turned. But yes, swivel is what I meant. :-) I'm no builder but it looked like once the seat was pulled out, it was flush against the wall in front of it. Thanks for teasing my brilliant idea. Your idea works too. LOL
small footprint Old Yeller was shot. Cujo had rabies/hydrophobia, iirc. I never saw the O.Y. movie but, wait....I think he was rabid, too, now that you mention it.
Love the trailer. I lived in a little trailer.. several trailers when I was a kid. 12' long with 5 people. It was a bad experience at the time so, I think I've been directed back to this issue, partly, to work through those dark memories. A bright yellow trailer sure helps. So cute and joyful. I love the way you have fun with it. Sounds like fun to live in it part time.
Wow! Sorry for that... right now I’m living with my mom in a fifth wheel with two dogs and a cat. Our trailer is about 15 or 20 ft. Can’t remember. It is horrible! Floors are rotting and breaking, ac doesn’t work, we had a family of mice in the winter. We long for a house of our own!
Be Free by now you probably set with some different circumstances because I was displaced for 22 years and I've never seen anyone else last longer than a year before somebody gave them something really really big
The widows on the door are held in with a kind of spring along the side of the frame. Move the window down to a neutral space (where the window locks do not engage) then push the window to the side and lift out of the frame. I hope this helps.
I think you should make the Awning on the front and make it able to be concealed so you can hook up the shower there, with a spot to put it away into (so it isn't constantly on the door entrance to your trailer). Also I don't know if I spelt awning correctly whoops! Love your channel and please properly (in depth) show us how you are going to convert your trailer and show us the best way to do this as you did an amazing job on your tiny house! ❤️💕
Name suggestion: BumbleBee Ceiling sugg: yes, map! Cabinet sugg: cool print contact paper...maybe the same print as the map? Exterior: Omg, love it! I was born in early 70’s tho. I can see where you might not be attached to the color since you’re younger. Does it smell musty or of mildew? There could be black mold under the vinyl? Maybe get it tested for mold? But, I suppose while camping one is exposed to all molds anyway? Happy camping! I used to wake up w/ a stye as a kid. Major mold allergies.
there is a portable on demand hot water system you can but for outside hot showers. It works great and is not expensive. When I was a kid if you needed hot water to do dishes etc. you just heated a pot on the coleman stove outside. We never cooked inside - the picnic table was well used. I now have a motorhome and I still use the coleman stove for everything. Love the look of your trailer.
Good morning THGJ and Happy Holidays to you, your family and everyone ! Like you said it's quite the eye catcher and tiny, but perfect ! Call it Hummingbird, everyone is always fascinated by them ! I can't wait to see the finished product ! You both know what you want and that's what's important ! Keep a flight and stop just enough to be seen, keep smiling !
I'm excited to see what you do with this place. Hope you have fun! :) Jenna you look more beautiful in this video. I think it's because you're glowing with excitement about this new trailer. As for naming it, I second the name Sunflower and also suggest of Poppi.
I think this is going to be so cute when you're finished with it! I was thinking maybe calling it Mellow Yellow! I was cracking up when you had trouble locking the pop-up! Have fun, can't wait to see more!
Love it! You're gonna have so much fun in it! I fully understand about the attention. I have a little square trailer that I've traveled the country with. I named her Square Bear. I couldn't go anywhere without someone stopping to chat and ask me questions about her.
It is pretty cool to have a unique and/or vintage trailer. I had my doubts about traveling around in mine, but my very first night out, within 10 minutes of me hitting the road, I stopped at a grocery store and a guy pulled up and said, "Would you like to sell that camper?" I said no, it's my first trip out in her, lol. I should have let him make me an offer...
CoolCat Carolena square bear! So cute! Love the name I'm 16 so I obvs never had one for myself and nobody else in my family likes small spaces but I'm infatuated by them and honestly I wanna live alone so I feel a square trailer would be good for me. I don't like big spaces and I don't really hang out with anyone outside of school (and work when I get a steady job) so I think it would honestly be really nice for me despite its size. I didn't think people named theirs but I really wanna name mine when I get one now that I saw your comment lol.
Spork you'll love it. Yes, name it for sure, although it's hard to sell it. I got attached to Square Bear and now I've been in a van for a couple of years and still don't wanna get rid of her...but it's time...good luck to you!
this is pretty cool! for some reason I actually feel like this would suit me more than a tiny home because it has the bare necessities i would need and just enjoy traveling a bit with my family.
Tiny camper from 1971 nearly perfect condition. I’ve seen some brand new that including toilet, shower, TV, and air conditioning. But, they restored it really nice for less.
Looking forward to your new adventures in your new space. What did you pay for that awesome camper. As a Carpenter I can just visualize what I can custom build in one of those.
@@jamesfv1 I did see your reply. I don’t know how to upload pictures from my phone to the internet. I found out that it really does have metal with house siding all over it and a tiny house-type roof built over the flat trailer roof. It looks like a tiny house. I painted it light peach with dark brown trim and painted criss-cross brown over peach on the awnings, to try and make it look like a tiny Tudor house. The interior wood was too trashed and damaged and I could not replace any panels with the same color, so I replaced most of the damaged wood interior with any color I could find and painted the interior in pastels. The kitchen is pink and the rest is blue and green. The curtains are florals in coordinated pastels. I don’t have money to restore it well, but it is a small pleasant home.
Brian, on Adventure Van Man...has a really good outside hot shower set up. Name of little trailer.... how about Woodstock, after the tiny yellow bird friend of Snoopy. :D
Super cute. I'd love to see what you end up doing with it. It has so much potential. Honestly even tho I am not a huge fan of yellow, it would be cool if you kept it that color. It's kind an emoji yellow like the yellow Have a Nice Day smiley faces from the 1970s. Yellow and gold and orange were the hot colors. And they are happy and cheerful colors. You could call it the Have a Nice Trip trailer or some theme like that. The inside looks like it needs a lot of love but the layout looks great for long road trips. I can't wait to see what you come up with.
Want more info on my vintage trailer, including purchase price and total budget? Check out my website - tinyhousegiantjourney.com/2018/03/01/vintage-trailer/
I lived in a vintage trailer for a year and storms terrified me! Also so many of my friends have caught a cross wind while driving and flipped their trailers because they are so light. I had to move into a van for more wind stability and vans are metal so no condensation wall rot. But it’s so humid here it’s a real problem. I miss my vintage camper but I am so much more secure in storms.
Fantastic trailer. Love the artsy/practical ideas you have for its future. (The whole design reminds me of [once up] the tent trailer [Lionel L400-D] my parents and I used to take 2-3 week vacations in, when I was a kid. Some of the best places I have ever visited in my life were with that trailer).
The only thing that freaks me out is the 'tiny toilet' living directly underneath the 'tiny tri-cooker' where you're preparing your bloody food. How is that safe? (Shudder - sorry)
Essem Sween u sound like a hater on the front line 🤔 Who cooks an shits at the same time🤔 Had u paid attention, she uses it more for emergencies. She usually use the restroom at gas stations etc!
OMGsh, that is adorable!! With little kids in the family, the first thought that came to mind for a name was Sponge Bob. Sorry about that! Not useful at all..... I noticed the small fold out table attached to the back of the trailer. Will that stay? Looking forward to enjoying your new adventures, Jenna!! Thanks for sharing it all with us!!
Love your little trailer. Maybe you could paint it lime green, olive green , chartreuse green, or a combination of all three colors , and call it Pea Pod, Pea-ple Pod, or People Pod.
Love the simplicity of this camper, very nice!! I like what you have done with it too. Where did you get the plastic tiles that look like tin tiles? Makes a great closet lining. Thinking of the name Daisy for your trailer. You could paint it on the back too. Couple of tips: IKEA sells very lightweight crates in fold-able cloth-like material. Opens to a crate size but folds down to a paper pad size. To paint any surface in RV, first sandpaper, then use Kilz Oil Primer, then latex (walls only) or enamel (wood or metal) which can be rolled on with tiny rollers. I did my whole RV and the tiny ones work well. Don't do latex on wood, and don't skip the oil primer or all of it will peel off. I would change the sink and tap both not pretty or functional. Get a deeper squarish sink and a modern faucet. Both are at IKEA or Amazon. Look for Bar Prep sink for small size. Using an undermount sink will give you more counter space. Not sure if you have done your floor yet, but if you want easy - get Click Lock Engineered wood Bamboo (in tiger stripe) from Home Depot. They are thin and narrow and don't need glue or nails, so they don't pop out or crack. Engineered wood is real wood and made for flexing. Your boards look too heavy, and will need refinishing. For underlayment, you can buy Silent Blue or Silent Silver closed cell neoprene with mylar backing, cheap on Amazon. Cuts down noise, moisture barrier, and good insulation. Magnetic racks are great for kitchen and closet. Harbor Frieght $5 (or $2 on sale, or free with purchase), IKEA $10 each. Please keep the stove and cabinets - they are a lovely vintage style and add value to your trailer. Well done! Keep up the good work and looking forward to future posts!
I would name it Smiley or roadrunner ... & why not replace the door window with plexiglass & Keep the aluminum door ... I have used paintable wallpaper on celling or you can paint light blue with clouds & have some glow in the dark stars... hidden in the clouds! so very cute, I would luv something this light, my minivan could handle that!! :)
Did you consider making the old fridge space into a shower with a small metal catch tub from a feed store? You might have room to place toilet in there but could easily move it for a shower. You could even put a fold down wood bench off shower wall to cover tub/toilet for extra seat? I love the metal sheeting in that space. I'd put that on your pop up too. It would reflect light. I just love this. Have fun camping!
I love your new itty bitty trailer! So cute and makes me smile. 😊 The name “Sunny or Sunni” just seems to fit! Your actual tiny home will feel like a luxury home after your short trips with the new trailer!
If you keep it yellow you can call it the Bumble Bee. Another name might be Ladybug being that it's so tiny. Or maybe Poptart because it's not only small it also pops up. ;)

I understand why you changed the cushions but the vintage yellow print was kinda cute!😊
I’m sorry but how does this only have one like after 10 months when it’s by the creator? UA-cam's weird

A map on the ceiling would be cool.
Demetria Young I agree, a ceiling map would be great.

It’s very spacious didn’t expect all of that and that little space
I love the color that it already is! And it goes nicely with your truck too. Thanks for the vid.
Name it Lemon Drop! Lol, love it! Good luck.
How about Yellow Submarine like the Beatles song, it will suit the porthole too. Looking forward to your new videos in it.
We’ve been considering that! You read my mind. But, I’ll never be able to use the song in my videos..$$$
First thing I thought of too..
Tiny House Giant Journey ...Yellow Submarine is perfect! You should make all the windows round now. 😂
But you could use Yellow Land Submarine as I just posted.
my friend Tom has the same trailer and he calls it Mellow Yellow.
The Rubber Ducky!
I love the yellow. Adorable, plus it stands out to other motorists. Good for safety!
Joseph Erwin Sun going thru yellow may give you tummy problems.
How about naming it Mellow Yellow.
L Esty I just said the same thing lol
I said "Mellow" too!
I love me some Mellow
Quite Rite Slick

Oh, that is a great name!
That's a good idea, being able to swivel your throne to the open area especially for people with longer legs is a nice solution (:
Excellent idea!
This is the 1st I've seen of it but you should call M and M.. Because it looks like a big piece of candy and I hope you kept it yellow it's kewl🏆
Call it " Old yeller" Very Cool!!!!!!!!
But it reminds everyone that Old Yeller died... Hydrophobia, I think. Not a good memory.
Cute name!! The trailer is vintage and it's yellow - perfect!

The original paint still looks great! If I may say, love the custom door with portal you mentioned. Looks like so much fun!

I just recently bought a vintage handmade trailer and I’m in love! Thank you for the ideas!!
Wow, can't believe it has more space than my Scamp and weighs less! What a find!
That trailer is super cute. I'm sure it's about to get much cuter.
I would name that camper "Lemon Drop".
Wonderful name for this sweet lil' home.. Cheers! Xo
Nice name mate 👌🏾
Joseph OBrien love that name!
Name it Lemmy
Thats an awesome name
summer, sunshine, daisy. i like those names, it’s so adorable & i love that color yellow

Beth Kasten Cute name!!
But you might attract some burnt out hippies! 🤣
@@lemurianchick thats not such a bad thing!✌✌✌😁
@@lemurianchick HEY!!! I resemble that remark! LOL!!! ; )
Tiny House Giant Journey wait are you selling my other tiny house I let you borrow lol
Tiny House Giant Journey hey Jenna, call the trailer "Goldfinch". A yellow bird with lots of freedom.....
Kampa - Geyser Portable Hot Water System- Amazon it. it can run off small (think they are 1 pound) gas canisters as well as the big tanks.
Tiny House Giant Journey
How does her Nissan Frontier tow the yellow trailer?
Very great!
It's so cute! You could always call it Buttercup or Bumblebee
lol poor guy walking around on his knees. "i'm having a great time honey. really"
Great work you have inspired me just purchased a Viscount 15t caravan 1964 trust mine will look great when i finish again great work from Australia
I'd look for a big print of the Sistine Chapel for that pop top roof area. 😁
ooooooooh, what a GREAT idea!
I love this idea
Love the trailer, anxious to see more. Bumblebee is what I'd call it.
Try ECO Temp portable propane water heater.
That looks absolutely fantastic! You're going to have a blast both updating and using it, I'm sure. Cheers
Came here randomly. This is really nice. You make me want to try caravaning.
That’s so cool. I like the name Lucy.
Essem Sween Having a toilet that close my food and or cooking grosses me out🤮
she said it was for emergencies..
Me too...perhaps relocating it to the opposite side of the trailer would be more hygienic!
Essem Sween u sound like a hater on the front line 🤔
Who cooks an shits at the same time🤔
Had u paid attention, she uses it more for emergencies. She usually use the restroom at gas stations etc!
The toilet is air tight when not being flushed. If you can't rough it , it's not for you.
I want one!!!! I can't wait to see the end result. As soon as you said, "what name should I give it?" The Twinky came to mind!!!
I love your pop-up trailer - it totally makes sense for when you're on the road versus towing your tiny house. Thanks for the super tour. ;)
Charles H That trailer is awesome!! Pop up is great. Keeo it the same color!
Hey. So adorable. Keep the color and call her French's. Like the Mustard bottle!
Miss or madam, this is the most wholesome video I've watched with interest since using UA-cam ever.
Love your little trailer. Maybe you could paint it lime green,
olive green ,
chartreuse green, or a combination of all three colors , and call it Pea Pod,
Pea-ple Pod, or
People Pod.
Jenna, so cute is this wee project! I would name it Curious George. Happy teeny, tiny living
Or Daisy?
Rimona Gale .. Then she needs to paint flowers on the outside to look like a daisy.. : )
Love the simplicity of this camper, very nice!! I like what you have done with it too. Where did you get the plastic tiles that look like tin tiles? Makes a great closet lining. Thinking of the name Daisy for your trailer. You could paint it on the back too.
Couple of tips:
IKEA sells very lightweight crates in fold-able cloth-like material.
Name it General Mustard (From the game, Clue).
Don't you mean Colonel Mustard from Cluedo?
I have a 1971 Trails West Campster, VERY similar, this has really motivated me. THANK YOU!
You could call him...Vintage Vinny.👍👍😂
Omg that thing is so retro and adorable
Paint some bright flames on it and call it Sparky!
Look forward the the final look. Love rebuilds of old. I would call her Butterblock.
Vicky Rainbow P N Co., light blue with clouds....great idea for Jenna!
I love it! looking forward to seeing the ending result😄
I think the name Lemon Drop is perfect. That the gentleman suggested......Best of luck in your ventures!!!
How about “Ole Yeller”
I love your new itty bitty trailer! So cute and makes me smile. 😊 The name “Sunny or Sunni” just seems to fit!
Your actual tiny home will feel like a luxury home after your short trips with the new trailer!
If you keep it yellow you can call it the Bumble Bee. Another name might be Ladybug being that it's so tiny. Or maybe Poptart because it's not only small it also pops up. ;)
It does kind of look like a toaster too.😁
Absolutely the way to go. I live in a vintage camper myself in the Mojave desert.
Be careful these are addictive lol.
Love your place.
A few black stripes..and it could be Bumblebee.
Nice new tiny house Jenna, love it
Love her!!! The color is the cutest!!! I'd name her Tweety Bird! 🐥 Or maybe even Star since she gets a lot of attention...🌟
Korkesha Arrington
It's a boy.
Jonsa Lyn oh I apologize. Well maybe Pac-Man would be better...they are going to be chomping up miles from traveling.
