I first discovered it after being diagnosed with a rare disease that had been slowly destroying my body since day1 and no doctors believed that anything was wrong with me- until I lost most of my ability to walk. Before the diseases progressed I was a skateboarding, street artist, dog runner with my whole life ahead of me. Now I have no idea where I’m going or what I’m doing. This song marks surviving darker times and the thirst to run and feel free again. Grieving the youthfulness of my early 20’s and taking life one day at a time. “I got nothing left to lose. I’m leaving it all behind”

I don't know if you know about Grand Theft Auto Vice City.. That game had an 80s soundtrack and the kids that played that game were blown away by the music.. That game had everything from Flock of Seagulls to Laura Branigan.. What Hollywood puts out now is garbage.. Newer generations don't know any better.. It's all they know because thats all they've heard..

But the videos you make when you drive or relax somewhere while listening to the song.....those are best videos....and that is the video I would rather see for this song. This was the first FM-84 song I discovered (early May of this year) and I was hooked. Then I discovered “Fade” (longer instrumental version of this song) and “Maverick” as well as “Arcade Summer.” I think “Maverick” is my favorite of them all tbh. 😎
Had to watch it twice because I kept closing my eyes and just enjoy the music 😂 not sure about the video either. The song is called running in the night, not running in the evening 😆 and to me it sounds like he is chasing someone he wants be be with, and doesn't want to break and be left behind "but whatever we do, I'm running in the night with you". Either way the song is very powerful, I'm lying here on the couch and my foot is itching to hit the gas pedal 😂 this is why I strictly always drive with cruise control 🤪
I LOVE this song!! This was the song that brought me to synthwave!! The video was not what I expected. Sonically it feels like a "late night in the city" kind of song. If you've seen TimeCop1983's video for "Back to You" or The Paper Kites "Electric Indigo", that's probably closer to what I envisioned. All good tho.

However, the only person I've ever associated with as a singer of the band is a man named Ollie Wride. And to answer the hosts question what I think of when watching it, is pretty much the same as the video. I see myself running at night on a beach with a beautiful woman.
