- Nestled on an entire city block in the third oldest city in Louisiana, this estate reminds visitors of Tara, the majestic plantation home featured in the movie, "Gone With The Wind". Built in the Roaring 20s (1927), and updated most recently in 2012, the Dubuisson Estate has been meticulously restored.
This historic mansion offers 7 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms (3 full baths and 2 half baths),majestic pillars, 5 working fireplaces, a sweeping central staircase, a butler's pantry, kitchen, a formal dining room, a breakfast room, a ladies parlor, a grand parlor, sauna, walk-in attic, master suite with a separate sleeping area and an old wine cellar. There are expansive grounds that include 200+ year old oak trees, mature landscaping, a swimming pool, a spacious back yard with a carriage house (complete with a beautiful horse-drawn carriage) surrounded by a privacy fence. The home has over 10,000 useable sq. feet +/-under roof.
This stately Colonial Revival home continues to exude an air of southern gentility and sophistication.
The Dubuisson Mansion is one of the most photographed homes in Louisiana. It has been the preferred site of many prestigious fundraisers and its opulent setting has helped charities and several current politicians raise thousands of dollars.
Edward Benjamin Dubuisson was a wealthy and prominent plantation owner (his plantation encompassed 3,000 acres), banker and politician. He commissioned this home to reflect his affluent and respectable status in society. Today, the Dubuisson Estate remains one of Louisiana's finest testaments to a bygone era.
Some antique furniture original to the home remains. Other period furniture can be purchased.

A very lovely presentation - thank God someone understands continuity between visual and music. The violin reminds me of my Father - he used to practice his violin until dawn sometimes ... my sister hated it, but I loved hearing it in my slumber.
I am so happy to see that Louisiana mansion us kept up.....beautiful
I'm from the deep South and I'm so in love with this old beautiful homes.
I” m from Boston and also love these homes!
This appears to be so well done (I'm from England and my knowledge of this style is largely from Hollywood films, so I don't know if it is accurate), it is hard to believe that my house is older. One of the most beautiful houses I have seen on UA-cam.
The Gospel is 1 Corinthians 15:1-4

10 children! Must have been a happy, bustling home. I can picture them running up & down that staircase, perhaps sliding down.
@Rose dowling Oh, sure! Remember Scarlett)))
When I see old beauty like this with such history I'm so proud to be from the south.i know there is horrible skeletons in the closet from the past and there much more work to be done but there is nothing like good old southern hospitality.creole food, gumbo, etteofe,ox tail, pigs feet ,poke chops, yams, dressing, turkey, chicken live and oyster dressing, black eye peas, greens, cabbage, cream corn, jalapeno corn bread,Loma beans every thing cooked with ham hocks, mustard fried chicken, shrimp, oyster, scallops, okra, beautiful homes like this remind me of a book I have called,"a Paris apartment" a there is a quote which is,"beauty is eternal dust is only for a time."l loved that.😻
Very beautiful, but needs a kitchen makeover.
What a beautiful old house, thank you for sharing it.
I was wondering about the furnishings, then I saw the note about them being available to purchase. I'm glad of that because I think the interior is impeccably done!
Antebellum means pre-Civil War. If it was built in 1927 it can not be defined as Antebellum.
Hello Cynthia,
Thank you for your interest in the magnificent Dubuisson Estate.
You are correct; antebellum means pre- Civil War. However, with regards to the Dubuisson Home video, our description states Antebellum and plantation style. The descendants of the Dubuisson family state that the original home was built in 1858 and the L addition was added in 1927 during a meticulous and detailed almost 3 year renovation. Most of the materials used in the renovation/addition, according to one of the Dubuisson family members, came from yet another antebellum home that once graced the property. An aerial view, which can be seen in the video, of the current Dubuisson home leads one to believe that the descendants could be correct. However, we conservatively stated antebellum style.
Thanks for your message.
With kind regards,
Darius
Cynthia Wright I
Cynthia Wright : Maybe they meant antebellum “style” for the 1927 built house.
Except you stated in the video that the original structure was demolished, not extended.
@history mystery I can see nothing wrong with this, even the area rugs in this home are gorgeous, its a 1927 home that was redone in 2012. Its not historic as in early/ mid 1800's.
Nice tour and background music. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful ❤️ and love the furnishings and style of decor.
I love it !! Thank you for sharing this beautiful house !!
Nicely presented, thank-you for the tour.
So much history. I love it. So beautiful
Absolutely stunning house. Loved the tour of the house . Would love to live there . Thank you for sharing with us . From across the pond
Some of these tours of stately homes have the best music.
Gorgeous breathtaking I would love to live in a home like this one so beautiful
Beautiful homes..would love to visit!!!
Oh this is amazimg. I have fallen in love.
Reminds me of the old Louisiana mansion featured in the movie “The Skeleton Key” with Kate Hudson. 😃
Beautiful home, in and out.
Well done. You really have to got an appreciation of history & the architecture to appreciate this. I think of the family...the original owners. That man done well
love that house! And the furniture so so pretty, unbelivable….
Gorgeous home!
The staircase took my breath away 💜💜💜💜
What most people do not realize is the fact that when this home and others were built earlier, THERE WAS NO AIR CONDITIONING. THERE WERE MOSQUITOES ALL OVER AND LIFE WAS MISERABLE THEN. We live far better than the real occupants of these homes when they were built.
Central air-conditioning is kind of nice.
Central air-conditioning is kind of nice.
@@suzannecorey1645 its my preference.
They had tester beds with mosquito netting draped over it.
So beautiful and lovely place just for us.
It’s “post-bellum”
Yes.

Hello Mama, thank you very much. Nice compliment ! Kind regards, Darius
It beautiful it just makes me feel better knowing Louisiana has kept just like was 1924.
Beautiful house and beautiful Mozart
MY DREAM HOME, I LOVE IT ❤
Perfect for movies
This is the home of my dreams I love it
In my neighborhood in Northern California , there is a large English Tudor style Mansion done in 1929, has a original pool area and still sits on a acre and half, with a guest cottage over the garage. They builders then owned the Ford/Lincoln dealer in our town
Gorgeous
This home was built in1927. Slavery ended after the civil war in 1865, except in Texas. They did not get the memo that the war was over until 1866.🙁
Shame for God..I'm really crying just thinking about it and reading your text my aunt sister was slaves .
@SARAI Dawta of ISRAEL you're so full of shit.
@ she didn't lie
SARAI Dawta of ISRAEL We ?
Beautiful
My Siberian Husky and I would be very happy in this house. He and I are already used to 4200 square feet. That's no joke.
Absolutely beautiful all the period furniture and decor. Do the have tours?
Very beautiful 🌹I just SUBSCRIBED to your channel ❤
Thank you
absolutely magnificent
beauful house
James 5 says it all!!
Nothing but a modern CAVE, PETRA.
I would love that and about 300 acres, a 40 acres lake on a river .
beautiful looks like something out of a book
Hello from Rancho Mirage California 🇺🇸
Amazing the house of Skeleton Key exist in the real life!!!
Que linda mansão!
I love everything except for the Masonic black and white tiles.
Masonic black and white tiles? Just because someone uses black and white tiles it doesn't make them a Mason. Where are you from? Bugtussle?
@@SymphonyBrahms Stfu. They represent that culture. And I STILL don’t like them. Now RUN ALONG smart ass‼️
The checkered pavement floor from Freemasonry is a reference to King Solomon's temple. Why would you hate it?
@@williamshelton4150 King Solomon also went astray from God and fell to his demise. So his decisions weren’t always in tact.
@@goldbars777 Is your inference that Freemasons have fallen away from God? That is absurd. There is a King James Bible on the altar of every Masonic lodge.
Lovely
It’s strange none of the children kept the fabulous home!
Money Pit I would expect.
whoever did the text for this was woefully ignorant of architectural terms. As pointed out by others, Antebellum is a time period, specifically pre Civil War in the South, at 2:34 ref house as Colonial Revival , not, it's Greek Revival, at 4:47 says Covered Patio, it's a Veranda and not a porch either because a porch indicates a major entrance.
Gatsby comes to mind.
I wonder if this house can talk how many secrets it can tell I'm just saying.
They just don't build them like that anymore.
If you have the money you can have it.
probably because "they" aren't slaves anymore, they's free now
Philly4/4 That house was built in 1927, well after slavery has been abolished.
No there don't everything is MODERN!!
@@alexandersalter6686 Slavery being abolished did not immediately end all slavery everywhere and especially not in the deep south... there's no way you can believe just because there is a law written outlawing something it ends immediately
Parlors, library, dining room, staircase??? That’s why people buy houses like this. You can see fitness gear anywhere…..
C’est que des rêves splendide
geogious! Love the waltz u chose for this... makes it seem even more grand.
Would love to live there, but... according to the reports on possible earthquakes (starting with the recent one in AK. and the Andreas fault in CA, then the upper Pacific coast...), LA is considered to be under water one day. horrible thought, but sure can't count it out. So-o sorry to say.
The house is located in Louisiana, not California.
that's the house i want..
Ante = before Bellum = war Usually the word "antebellum" is used to refer to structures built before the Civil War. This home is not antebellum. It IS majestic and plantation-like.
It was built in 1858.
I can afford that on my $10/hr job just gimme a few years lol.
BELÍSSIMA MANSÃO UM INCANTO REAL. 😀😀😀😀🙉🙉🙉🙉🙉🙉👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

Great wiindow treatments
Gosh it look lik 12 oaks and Tara . Apart from the roof . Beautiful old home and I am sure if it’s the original home it would have ghosts xo
Where or what city is this located ?
Stunning
Estimated price value ?
Not so expensive

DiVine Piece of Property 💎💎💎💎❗❗
So...how much is the asking price?
Imagine cleaning this house and all these ghosts.
The staircase is definitely salvageable, with skill. With water coming in the top, the rest may not be
No one is treating this down dear.
I am sorry, I do not see a bath tub in the entire home. I was supposedly built in 1927 when everyone had at least one bath tub.
What town is this in ?
Price list , just curious
This is beautiful but don't like that shade of yellow . When I see bright red and yellow it makes me think of Mac Donald's .
Hello dolly set piece lol
@ Darius Popescu, by chance is this home still on the market for sale?
Hi,
Please contact me on: dariuspopescu11@gmail.com
Thank you!
Every since I was a little girl I been wishing for a manson
Why do the drapes drag the floor? Style back then?
It was called "puddling," and was a status symbol.
it was also a style in homes in the early 2000's. Saw it done a lot in the "Tuscan " style homes being built back then in my area of NorCal.
It's a beautiful house like I said before I believe it's nothing coming out the house is good because the year it was built and plus in the south please fill in the blanks.
My kind of gal, Wendy!
wendy jenkins how about you fill your brain with some knowledge. This house was built in 1927 60 + years after the war. Geez
Im looking for a plantation to buy . give me info please
It looks like it's own world.
What is the price for this mansion???
1.25 million
Many miles walked, many secrets in the closet's, many eyes in the cellars, many ropes on the tree's, how can something b so beautiful & have so many Demons.
Says it was built in 1927.
How much? Does furniture go with the sale?
Vickie Scallan , yes!
How much??
Antebellum means "existing before the civil war". Since this house was built in 1927, it is not an antebellum house.
It was built in 1858.
Reminds me of a graveyard, if you know what I mean! 1927
I am in lusiana I want that home now
It would be hard to live in that house since someone died inside it.
not to mention that it was built during soavery and its uh.. a plantation home hint hint. it probably wasnt all peaches and ice cream on this property.
@@louisaugustexvi4515 well at least they gave slaves a job that was close to home, so there's that.
They have enough cameras on the front door.
