Why do people continue to put white carpet in their homes? I see it over and over. It’s not practical & is not going to hold up over time, especially in the North where there is snow, ice & mud a lot. My sister has white carpeting throughout her home and 10 years later it looks like a zebra print.
This house has the usual wood floor with beige carpet under a table or bed. Upgrade to columns in the living room and a sink or heaven forbid a cook top on an island for people to sit around while mom fries bacon. Grease shield anyone? Can't figure out these layouts except the architect who chose the layout doesn't live there.

I see a lot of homes where wood flooring is used, which I think is a better choice overall.
@@scottscage6409 Yes, you sweep it with broom. Occasionally mine need a damp mop. Dries in a minute.
