Reminds me of the old days catching mak on umbrella rigs. Filled the whole bottom of the boat and had chum for the rest of the summer. Never seen bonito fishing like that. What a rush that must've been.

That was cool to watch the "savagery" haha. Looked fun. The adrenaline looked to be at it's peak on that blitz at the point you can't get your line in fast enough.

Wow the reef looks real good in this vid. You need a good day like this with no wind to really put a beating on them. I worked on a party boat near the jamacia and i loved when you could see them swimming through the chum. You gotta throw in a sabiki rig in there and just let them go nuts hahaha. Best way to do it.
If anyone else does this kind of fishing make sure you bring some glasses. With jigs flying everywhere, it's not worth losing an eye.

Man i haven't been on a party boat since i was a kid.
I was wondering, watched that video of the cape cod canal, i noticed that stripers fins had a blue tint. Is that because of the clarity of the water or the temperature? Just curious, anyways tight lines man, looking forward to the next adventure.

      Bonito - Sarda sarda
False Albacore aka "Bonita" - Euthynnus alletteratus
Chris is catching bonito in this video.
Bonito are in the mackerel family, Albies are in the tuna family. Bonito are usually targeted as a food fish, albies are amazing fighters. Some say albies are inedible but that's just a myth; if properly cared for, they're every bit as good as bonito.
