am i tripping theres not a single taylor swift song in there, despacito is not in there either despite being the most viewed song or even video iirc on youtube. ik its spotify but like damn.
“Despacito” suffers from having two equally successful versions with the original and the Justin Bieber remix, so its total streams are split. The Chartmasters website has an alternate all-time chart combining streams from all versions of the same song, and “Despacito” would find itself in the top 10. “Save Your Tears”, “Die For You”, Levitating”, and “Perfect” would also be significantly higher under this formula, while Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” would make the list. As for Taylor Swift not being featured here at all, that’s because she infamously removed her back catalogue when Spotify was first consolidating itself. When she returned in mid/late 2017, she was on a run of extremely divisive singles that lasted until 2019, so streaming audiences cared more for other artists. In addition, the Taylor’s Version releases of her first six projects will compromise the total numbers of her pre-2019 hits similar to what happened with “Despacito”. Her best bets at the moment are “Cruel Summer” (guaranteed) and “Anti-Hero”.
@@savageraccoon787 Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Rihanna are also billionaires but nowhere to be found here either, so I don’t understand this logic. Also worth noting that Taylor Swift temporarily removed her catalogue off Spotify right as streaming was truly taking over, and when she put it back in mid-late 2017 it was during a period of extremely divisive singles whose front-loaded success was mainly driven by fans. In addition, the Taylor’s Version re-recordings will make it hard for her pre-2017 work to make this list, because streams will be split between the two versions. Similar reason as to why “Despacito” doesn’t appear here. Taylor’s best bets at the moment are “Cruel Summer” (guaranteed) and maybe “Anti-Hero”.
@@savageraccoon787 Blinding lights that was top 1 in this list has 880m views on UA-cam while Taylor Swift's "Shake it off" have 3.4b. So i just assume her fans use UA-cam way more than Spotify. Yess I remember Riptide being SO BIG so when they were surprised I was confused haha
I don't specifically listen to Bruno Mars, but we got to give credit where credit is due. He writes not just his own songs but half of the music industry's.

Can she sing? Yes. It ends there.
@@Somethingwittyxs4ku she can sing better than most of the artists nowadays, her vocal range is crazy!!
@@alicioussmakeup7806 Most? Like literally everyone better. Who are these 2 dumb idiots judging anyway.
I get that you don't like some music, artist or bands, but they are at the top for a reason. Me for example, I don't really like Lady Gaga, but I won't say she is a bad singer or anything, it's just that I don't feel her music. In the other hand, I like some Ed Sheeran songs, others meh, but no matter my opinion, he is such a great artist, he has many top songs for a reason, it's not simple coincidence.
Another example, I like some Coldplay and JB songs, and some other songs from them are very commercial, but that is no reason to say they are bad artists. They are just what they earned. Same with Imagine Dragons, One Republic, Twenty One Pilots. I do like all of them.
But judging them for a couple songs it's just dumb.
"Love yourself" was written by Ed Sheeran

yeah, i understand why people like most of the popular stuff i don't. but i don't get why people like rap- i mean speaking with a rhythm. the only ish good reason (for me) is that the texts are funny or relatable, but for that you can listen to actual music or even motivational speakers/comedians. if you feel like i'm wrong though, please write why do you think so. and while we're at it, if you heard Cha cha cha and/or Bad guy and think they're good songs, please also write why. i'm open to that, i really wonder what's it about them that people like, i couldn't really find anything

The best thing about music is that it is subjective. Much like food taste, what's good to someone may be sour to another, and that's perfectly fine.

the take about how older music has less streams because many people listen to it via physical media is so accurate
I seriously doubt that. Who's listening to physical media anymore?
I'd say that new music is just listened to more since it's natural for younger generations to access music all day, every day.

It's fucking wild that the Arctic monkeys are so popular, I remember finding them in like 2015
considering their biggest album came out in 2013 and was huge at the time, not that wild lol

They were popular back when their first singles came out, but I discovered them very late as well
they´ve got so many great stuff in the discography, it kinda makes me sad that they´re known for these songs out of them all
Never heard of miskif, but I'm glad I did he is single handedly the sole reason I'm not addicted to social media. Thank you so much
There’s some songs on here, like sweater weather, that just play if you’re on random Spotify surfing. It popped up on me just before this video and I have never listened to it on my own. I think that’s how some of these songs get so huge. Lovely also popped up in my random songs playing, and while it is still an amazing song, same thing applies
i like how bb described sicko mode. I feel like everyone that I know knows the imagery of that song and where we were at the time. I wish we'll get another song like that defines our times
I found Imagine Dragons when they just released their first EP and each song had like 2k views. I showed them to my girlfriend at the time and said that this band was going to be huge. She was just whelmed and we moved on. After we broke up later that year, Imagine Dragons had blown up and she posted one of their songs on Facebook and said it was her favorite band. I was so pissed lol.
So basically Miz take is: I like song = good, I don't like song = bad
1:32 they kept interrupting each other so much we never got to hear their actual opinions on the song
Bruno Mars and Ariana - “So boring”
JB - “It’s so simplistic I love it”
Bro whatt??
am i tripping theres not a single taylor swift song in there, despacito is not in there either despite being the most viewed song or even video iirc on youtube. ik its spotify but like damn.
Yeah, what's the credibility of this video? Taylor swift is a billionaire now. There's no way she's not here somewhere right?
If they included plays from all platforms this list would be way different. But yeah its a Spotify only, so.
She has super hits but they don’t have great replay value for non fans
