Utti was no longer a fighter plane base, but saw the same type of supportive and parachute training activities as today.
The first plane is a Bf 109-G-6 MT-507 in a gate keeping duty. The plane was the last Bf 109 to fly in the Finnish AF in March 1954. The plane is now restored and displayed in Tikkakoski Finland.
SH-1 is a Saab 17A bomber from the 1940s, being the first type the factory built. The huge leg fairings are meant to do a double duty as dive brakes during dive bombing. Two imported planes were briefly used as target tugs in 1959-61 in Finland. SH-1 was scrapped in January 1962.
PY-1 is the prototype VL (Valmet) "Pyry" training fighter built in 1939. 40 more were built in 1941, the type would be used until 1962. PY-1 was one of the planes that later received a trapezoidal wing in an effort to improve the demanding stall characteristics, not a very desirable trait for a trainer. PY-1 is now on display in Kauhava, Finland.

Thank you! It was a "real" bomber actually with the pilot and bomber/navigator/gunner seats. It had the same engine as the DC-3. The Saab company developed fast. In the late 40s they already had their delta wing Draken on the drawing table.
@@Itapirkanmaa2 ahh a bit like a fairey battle then..? The battle was very underpowered and did not last long against the Germans
@@briancarno8837 The Swedes did not have to fight in WWII. The Saab 17 was taken out of use already in 1948-54, and transferred to a private firm that conducted target towing for the Swedish AF or sold abroad.
