Robert Johnson was said to have sold his soul to the devil at the crossroads outside of town in exchange for becoming the best guitar player. His recording are hugely influential. Apparently he left town after being thrown out of clubs because his playing sucked so bad. 6 months later he came back and was a phenomenal, inventive player.
Recorded his songs in 1936-37. Including the song "Crossroads"
The reaction song is loosely based on his story.

That Nickelback cover one is amazing. Obviously it's different, but there's real skill being put on display there. Hell, I like it more than some of them other remixes of it. I have no idea why some people think it's shit, when it has some amazing skill, sick guitar shredding, and of course, Nickelback's great voice. I think it's just people still giving Nickelback unnecessary hate for their "generic" songs. Every song of theirs that I've listened to has been a banger.
I dislike the key change - would have sounded better in the original key. And it feels slow for a guitar version. But while I don't love it, I cannot deny the skill and that it's a good song.

Nickelback is a bad ass band! You should check out their song, side of a bullet. And check out the story behind that song it was about a friend of hers in another band that got killed. Shot on stage.
This is ok but I still prefer the original. Charlie uses that language in the live versions but not on the radio.

It's fun I guess. A bit of an easy move from fiddle to guitar. It's OK, just nowhere near as good as the original.
