Thanks for the eye candy. Been eyeing some different stitch(s) to buy. Seems like ram lok is good, but for the genuine experience... Auto Stitch for the win.
I have had my eyes on the ram-lok for a while now, and tried the auto for the first time at a show yesterday, there were no ram-loks available. I have say, the ergos on the auto really delighted me, I was surprised, to the point I am now paranoid I will be unhappy with the larger cutaway for your finger behind the blade when choking up. The auto felt just perfect. Also felt like a beast, in a good way. Your review nailed those points for me and validated my initial thoughts, I completely agree with you man, thank you. I get there are design improvements on the ram-lok, i.e. gimping (sp?) on the top spine near the back of the blade, weight, etc. but there are also cons to the manual, ergos, ram-lok mechanism wearing away and failing throughout time, the newest ram-lok clip screws have been moved underneath the clip but not recessed so your pocket will grap the screws which is annoying, etc. The way the knife feels matters most to me, also autos are legal where I live so that is not a concern. One other question I was curious about is how the cutting edges compare between the two. It might be safe to assume the new ram-lok is a bit slicier due to the more narrow blade, but I have no idea. Curious your thoughts based on your experience. Cheers and thanks for the review man! Congrats on those awesome knives!
Hey! Thanks for watching and taking time to share your thoughts! The most notable difference between the two has to be the ergonomics. The smaller radius finger choil, weight, contouring, and texturing on the auto definitely win out in my book. If you can have one of each, you’ll enjoy them both! If you can only have one I’d certainly recommend the auto. The cutting geometry may be nominally better on the Ram-Lok, but factoring in the height of the blade and the width of the swedge I don’t think the extra thickness of the stock is gonna amount to much.
@@CuttingEdgeEDC my pleasure, thanks for getting back to me and for the feedback! I went with the auto and love it. I haven’t had the chance to hold one yet and that also added to my hesitation. The auto feels great. I have the feeling the ram-lok might be better suited for daily use, could be wrong. They are such cool knives. I may end up getting a ram-lok down the road also as you mentioned lol. Thanks again! Cheers!
Thanks for the comparison vid, bud! This helped me pick my first Stitch.
After a lot of back and forth, I ended up going with the Auto!
@@Sanguivore Awesome! Hope you enjoy it!

@@B2Rockin Love it! Thanks for the update.
I like both but prefer the ramlok
I need to get my hands on a fluted aluminum Ram Lok.
@@CuttingEdgeEDC yea MC's got me wanting that version lol
@@CuttingEdgeEDC I have the APFL version and its really nice. 🤠👍 I prefer the AP finish over the standard stonewash.
I love my Stitches both the auto's and the Ram-Lok version. 🤠👍
It’s a great design!
Did you do something with the scales on your auto? Looks very shiny. Or does it naturally get shiny over time???
Just a little patina from pocket time.
@@CuttingEdgeEDC Ok thanks…
Laws on autos are so ambiguous in my state I just avoid carrying one. Love the knife. Well made, well thought out design.
I understand that. Big brother is a real wet blanket. Thanks for watching!
I never noticed the blade differences with the auto and manual- interesting, thanks
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching.
