Is it not clear as common sense.Maybe that's why Mr. Shashi tharur is silent throughout at least till 18 min of the debate.
Democracy is not fundamentally a quest for truth....It is -at best- the will/ Collective opinion of the largest group/ majority of people (Votable) in the Polity/ Country - who chose to vote! In fact truth is often sacrificed at the altar of election campaign and ultimately approved/ Disapproved by the choice/Will of the largest group who chooses to stand together- for interests that suit them (Often immediate interests).....In the whole process, the quality/Accuracy of truth is hardly ever a key factor!!!

Clearly, if some of the speakers were all for accuracy then I believe a more optimum method could've been chosen ? Does this not fail the entire point of the debate, wherein you are distinguishing two facts and contending realities of living in a post truth world, or a rather manufactured one..and then at the end, you decide to go head along with a couple of shouts without hearing the public opinion (I wasn't pleased that Barkha decided to dismiss that, clearly some of the speakers were sorting their internal rivalries for half the time and this 'time' could've been granted to the public). What sort of rationalism is this ?
