I recommend doing darkness right after the ice world this is because you can get illumnia as a sword from the shop at round 70 (illumnia does sun damage so 2x damage to darkness)
id rather do darkness early because you can get more sins with this method even though darkness is harder this way but that isnt really a problem for me
