- বাংলাদেশের তৈরি পোশাকের সবচেয়ে বড় বাজার ইউরোপিয়ান ইউনিয়ন (ইইউ)। স্বল্পোন্নত দেশ থেকে উন্নয়নশীল দেশে উত্তরণের সঙ্গে সঙ্গে বর্তমানে জিএসপি স্কিমের আওতায় ইইউ-এর বাজার থেকে পাওয়া সুবিধাগুলো বিলুপ্ত হয়ে যাবে।
বাংলাদেশকে তখন জিএসপি প্লাস স্কিমের সুবিধা পাওয়ার চেষ্টা করতে হবে। তবে, সম্প্রতিকালে জিএসপি প্লাসের শর্তগুলোতে কিছু পরিবর্তন আনার প্রস্তাব দিয়েছে ইউরোপিয়ান ইউনিয়ন।
জিএসপি প্লাস শর্তগুলোতে কী ধরনের পরিবর্তন আনা হচ্ছে এবং এই পরিবর্তনগুলো বাংলাদেশের জন্য কী ফল বয়ে আনবে তা নিয়ে আলোচনায় আছেন খন্দকার মো. শোয়েব ও দ্য ডেইলি স্টারের সিনিয়র স্টাফ রিপোর্টার রিফায়েত উল্লাহ্।
How can Bangladesh avail GSP-plus benefits?
The European Union, the largest importer of readymade garments from Bangladesh, will cease to provide the generalised system of preferences (GSP) scheme after the country upgrades to developing nation status.
To maintain an upper hand in trade, Bangladesh now needs to work to avail the GSP-plus scheme.
