Today I have a tutorial for the Anna Griffin Square Pop Out Card dies. This is an easy card to put together (once you know where and how to fold the score lines.)
My issue with this card is mainly the card base die. I really don't understand the purpose of including this die since it is easy to cut a sheet of paper 5.5" x 11". So why include that die that doesn't even score the card base for you? There are no instructions included with the die and Anna has not created a tutorial YET. Maybe when she does, it will make more sense?

I also struggled with attaching the interior pop up part to the exterior. I record all the HSN craft shows and rewatched the sales pitch and instructions Anna gave. She DID say it should have a border around the inside to look better, but it isn’t written anywhere. I also struggled with another card and find remembering the border idea helpful.

Thank you, I came looking for a tutorial after I saw a Halloween card made using these dies. I felt so crazy because I had forgotten that I even had the dies. Now, I believe this set was created for her Create workshop last year and thus why minimal instruction as it was part of a class. But thank you for the excellent tutorial. Also in her finishing school curriculum there are tutorials with multiple ideas. A lot of customers complain when she does not include a die for the card. Having no fold lines gives you a 11 in rectangle that can be used in multiple way🤷♀️
Thank you for the information! This one was not in Create 7. It was the square flip card dies (which is one of my all-time fave die sets!) but I will definitely check out finishing school. It would be awesome to see what other things can be made with this die set. with this set I really need the inspiration. I was thinking of destashing it, which I rarely if ever do with AG things. Wow! I can’t believe people complain about not having a card base die when it’s a basic card base! What???? 🤔 thank you for all the good info here! Even though I do subscribe to finishing school, I don’t take advantage of the resources like I should. Thanks for the inspiration! 🥰

WELL, BLESS YOU! First, your cards came out so nicely. I like your combos of products and fearlessness in using your own style with the fancy stuff...
Second, thank you for doing the math and engineering to get the functionality correct! I wouldn't have done it, and any die that makes me want to punch it in the face out of frustration is not a good purchase. (I'm looking at you, AG Perfect Pop-up flower dies of 2020...)

😂 it’s really easy once you know how and what to fold but that card base die is a total miss for me. I would say it’s worth it, but maybe when it’s on sale with free shipping 😘

Your cards are gorgeous! I'm glad that I found your video. I'm not sure why that cardbase die is so big. The inspiration sheet doesn't show it that way. I guess we could create a card with a huge base, but why? I just got this die set in Anna's monthly mystery box, but I haven't opened it yet. It seems like there should be some border dies to take care of that gap if we use that die. I don't think I'll be using it for this card. Hopefully I'll find another use for it.

I don’t have use for a die to cut 5 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper and not even score it 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ other than that, it’s a nice card die and getting it with all the other goodies in the monthly mystery box was a steal 👍🏼

I have 3 stamp presses already, so I don’t see me getting another one in the near future 🤷🏻♀️. I have the regular Misti, the mini Misti, and the Hampton Arts Stamp Perfect (which is the one I prefer.) 12x12 wouldn’t be a size I personally would reach for which is why I don’t have one already 😂

Thank you SO MUCH for this tutorial! I have had this die for a bit but had not used it...did not realize there were no instructions. I truly would have not figured it out and would have been quite frustrated. Thanks to you I have made two of these already! (Not like AG to leave us in the dark...wonder what happened???)
