Lifesaver! If I still had any hair it would have become grey because I was just not able to get jellyfin running on my QNAP with Container Station. Your video was the only one which really helped me.
I have just installed Jellyfish on my TS-251+ which was easy thanks to this video. I decided to give it a go after experiencing yet another issue with video station following an update.

Great! So now, could you please do another video explaining how to update to new version of jellyfin safely?
Thanks really. Exactly what i need. Several days i'm trying use docker, contener etc , and never i can acces to my videos. With your tuto, it's OK on the first try !
Excellent Video! I own a TS-230 and the qpkg created by pdulvp which you use does not support that model. One should be able to work around this but the only other option seems to be using a (docker) Container. I have no qlue how container station works and the turoraials all point to portainer and others. My skills are not good enough to figure this out... any tips?
Looks like this was done on a version prior to 3.x. I have 3.0.5 and the environment, etc looks entirely different. I attempted to do my best to translate termonology from the video to the new interface, and failed. Hope for an update soon.
How does updating work with that application? I love jellyfin and until now I ran it in a docker container, but it's just a pain to update if you want to keep your configurations.
I installed JellyFin on my QNAP TS-264 NAS. I followed your instructions. I create a media library for Photos and pointed it to a JellyFInPhotos folder I created with File Station in a path under the Multimedia Share folder. I placed couple of photos in that direction, but I cannot see those photos in the Photos Library on the JellyFin server. Why? What have I missed? Permissions look correct to me. I am a new use of QNAP and JellyFin.
thanks for the tutorial, install went well, but I can’t get the hardware acceleration working on my TS 677 equipped with a PCIe GTX 1050 Ti GPU. Followed instructions provided in Github, but getting an VAAPI error.
I am finding it difficult to set up my new qnap ts 233. I have reset it twice and still, it is a mess. All I want to do is use my 2tb nas to back up and sync my media folders,(TV and Films) using qsync or an easier-to-understand app. Can you please suggest any of your videos to help me? Thank you
Doesn't seem to work on TS-664. I get "Failed to install jellyfin_10.8.11-1.qpkg. The file upload timed out." almost instantly after trying to upload it to be installed.
Do you know how I can pull all my data/config file from my container station jellyfin to import it to this app? Or maybe a simple terminal input i can use to update the container? Would like to get this running but dont want to create all the users again/ tick all the media as watched etc etc.
Thanks Robbie, great video, info and warnings! I jumped the gun after your last video and installed through a different dev, but I recon I'll need to reinstall and get it right 🤔
I can't find my existing folder structure on my qnap ts-664 within the jellyfin add library process. I only find snapshot folders. Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?
What happened to the written guide? I can't find it on the site and you didn't link to it here. Not even the Github repository you said you'd link to isn't here
Nice tutorial, however this does not work for all models. I hope you can consider making this a warning for some users as I was excited until I realised my TS-230 ins't compatible. Bummer!
This package is great, but is anyone able to help me give permission to read off an external harddrive connect to my TS-464. I am fairly new to all this stuff and I'm unsure how to get started. Cheers
Oops. I forgot I had Emby running on the same NAS. I clicked on the Jellyfin icon and Emby came up. I'm guessing I Have to uninstall Emby? Seeing as they are extremely similar code is there a way to user the existing emby settings on the New Jellyfin app? (i'm obviously wanting to get away from Emby). BTW Thanks for this video. Maybe there is a way to use a different port and run both? ok... I stopped Emby. Im not sure which code is running... hahahaha
Great video. Cant wait for CPUs like Intel Meteor Lake with 10bit AV1 encode/decode to land in Qnap systems ad being able to start using that codec for encoding on the fly.

Surely is the easiest way, but after installed, I get this error: Could not find a part of the path '/dashboard-ui/index.html'. Do you know why it appears and how to fix it?
I was psyched about a way to install Jellyfin without a docker and found this video. My Qnap (TS-251) is at QTS 5.1.7.2770 which is the latest. Each time I try to launch it I am warned "Secure connections () are not supported for this application. Did the QNAP vendor decide to block it base on DRM or some other nonsense?

I couldn't find the link to the repo in the details. Could you at it please?

Perfect. A great alternative to my current Plex

Agreed my version is not like this and I have no clue where to go ??

Worked like a champ for me, but how does one go about updating Jellyfin after installing it using this method?
Any luck with this? I too would like to update mine but struggling.
same here
I wish you would’ve said specifically which hardware acceleration specifically is needed for the qnap ts-464 model, other than that, thanks!
Should be QSV.
Thanks for the excellent instructions. Very good video!

Thanks for amazing guide. Wow, Let 's try it.

Good morning,
Excellent video.
With Jellyfin, is it possible to play Dolby Atmos sound?
Thanks

Alguna solución?

I wish you'd gone into more detail about setting it up for remote access. I'm kind of lost right now.

NM... turned off forced HTTPS in the control panel and three qnap reboots later it seems its working.
