Thanks Jim for the tour of this beautiful garden. The pollinators are in heaven I'm sure visiting this garden.
I cant imagine the work that went into that beautiful landscape! Thank you for that tour!
I love to watch those English garden shows where they plant gorgeous perennial borders like that. I would love to have that some day. Thank you for sharing! Perennial goals!😃
Truly a beautiful garden!!!... an awesome way of using large rocks to raise the flower beds...
I'm also looking forward to the interview.
Jim,
I love your videos not just because they are wonderful to watch, but because you take the time to share the botanical names in writing while you generously inform us on each plants pro and con aspects. Love it when you say deer and rabbits don't tend to eat them.
What a lovely garden! I simply kept thinking What a relaxing place to enjoy while sipping the first cup of coffee, inviting the day's arrival.
I loved seeing this garden. So many beautiful things to see and yet it still had a cohesiveness about it. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Beautiful! and Kudos to whomever is manning the camera and to your video editor. Also , of course, Thank you to Mr. Werner.
Can’t wait to see them in bloom!
Such a wonderful way to spend my morning. I would walk through that garden several times a day.
It is a great place to hang. There were a dozen gold finches flying around, but they didn't want to be filmed
The purple bee balm is just beautiful!
That is a stunning border , providing some serious planting inspiration. Think I’ll be rewatching this again ..wow!
Yes, I am going to rewatch as well - a lot of inspiration and ideas. I appreciate that names are usually on screen as well, but with enough if a delay that I can still quiz myself.
Wowza, now that is what I call a perennial border Jim. :) Loved seeing that. TY
Beautiful garden! Thank you for showing Denny’s pollinator garden.
Great garden tour. Love the big boulders edging the raised beds.
I would love to see the vegetable garden & other areas that Denny has planted! Thank you Jim & Denny for the lovely tour. Looking forward to the interview.👍
Yes so would I
Nice deep massive beds! I planted Mountain Mint (pycnanthemum muticum) for the first time this yr. I heard pollinators love this native plant.
His garden is a dream 🌈 hopefully more visits to his garden this year & years to come! Would love to see all of those phlox in peak bloom one day. I’m sure they’re stunning!
While I love so many plants, it seems like there is no rest for your eyes with so many different plants.
Nice gardening.
Nothing like anything.
💞💞Love from India 💞 💞
Absolutely beautiful. I can't help but think of all the work involved.
Very nice - I wish I could do half of that, but given the amount of deer that nightly raid my garden, everything would be nibbled down to the ground. I'm excited to see the interview!
That’s an amazingly beautiful garden! Such a wonderful mix of flowers and yet it looks so harmonious.
This is the density I am working at in my garden. It is beautiful!
I love gardens like this. Hell yeah! So cool
I love when no sooner does the question pop in my head during your video, that you answer it. When you showed the gaura, I was thinking how badly my has flopped after blooming. I wondered if I should cut it bac... BOOM... you answered my question.
Gen, sometimes my guara gets new growth before I have cut it back. Oops. Then I cut it back. 😬
Love that Rudbeckia maxima
Wow! All the goals. What I like most is, to me, what seems to be a definite focus of is it good for the pollinators? - then plant it. It looks so random and lovely and natural. I am getting fatigued of all the overdesigned gardens with “recipe” plantings. Most fun are those things which pop up wherever they care to. Lots of people might tear those out because they don’t “fit the design plan” - but I say let it be. The plant knows better than I do where it wants to be. Thanks for sharing this amazing garden.
Unbelievable! My flamethrower redbud is doing great here in pensacola fl! Thanks Jim. Judy
Hi Judy, I'm in Milton and have a Flamethrower redbud coming at the end of this month. Do you have shade for yours? Mine will be in full sun and I'm worried about sun scorch on the leaves. Good to know yours is doing great!
what a wonderful garden - so bright & beautiful & busy ... and really with just a few plant choices. Thanks to your friend Denny for allowing us to walk along with you ... and thanks for the Flamethrower Red Bud - I have one in my garden and it's a show-stopper for sure !!!!
Nice boulders! The ones next to the pool in the background look very nice!
Thank you very much for sharing Dennis beautiful garden what a treat love all the plants.
What a beautiful magical garden.
Beautiful garden, I'm very envious.
Thank you for the beautiful tour its magical. Look forward to hearing Denny's favorites.
Golden falls redbud looks fantastic! This is a fantastic backyard garden. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely beautiful! Wondering if these were done through spreading seeds or planting full size starter plants from nurseries.
Love this pollinator garden
Wow !! Just beautiful 😍
What a treat! Thank you and thank Denny!
Amazing!! Thank you, SO much inspiration from this gorgeous pollinator garden. My favorite kind.
Wow!!! What a magical garden!! Thank you for sharing
I went out and one cone flower plant had 10 bumble bees and 2 butterflies.
Wow! You are so right: it IS magical!
Beautiful thanks for showing.
Thanks for the tour! Definitely going to incorporate some of these plants in my garden.
Stunning 🥰 Thank You for sharing Jim 🪴🌺🪴
Wow! What a fabulous garden!
Great video and a beautiful garden. I’d love to hear how he manages insects/diseases/deer, how he feels about using natives, whether their primary goal is attracting pollinators vs beauty in the garden, etc. looking forward to your interview with him.
Beautiful flower beds!😎❤️
HEAVEN 🙏🏼🌿❤️
It really is!!
Thanks for the tour. He has beautiful perennial beds.
Wow, what an inspiring garden. Thanks for the tour!
Jim, thank you for the lovely tour! So inspirational for a beginner like myself! I am sure Denny thinks super-highly of you hence the year on year access to his garden - love it! I heard a new term in your video today - “host plants” - could you do one of your 2 min videos on what it means and some example plants? Thanks so much again!
beautiful garden thank you for the tour
Magic looking place
Thanks for sharing
Blessings
This tour is absolutely stunning! I want to try a few of these varieties out.
What a beautiful Garden....loved it .
What an impressive border & garden. Thanks for sharing 🙂
I’m glad I watched this as it reminded me to plant some zinnias. 👌
Lovely. Looking forward to planting a number of these at our new house.
Gorgeous!!
I added blue African basil to my garden this year because you have said they can't resist it. I also have coreopsis, bee balm, stokesia, liatris, blackeyed susan, lots of herbs, lots of salvias and other perennials and annuals they are supposed to like, but about the only thing that has attracted their attention is my Vitex tree. It is truly worrisome that there are not many around. I haven't seen many butterflies or hummingbirds either.
That really was magical! So many textures, gorgeous rock raised beds. Loved hearing all the happy birds and seeing the pollinators. I've noticed in the garden center that the bees are wild for the catmint (Nepeta). At home, my oregano is always covered by bees, just bouncing around on the long stems. 🐝
You and your camera person really have a good eye for composition. And I've noticed that your camera person has really improved in just a few weeks (it was good from the start, for sure) with filming not only a moving person but moving plants, while they are often moving, all while minding the composition. Very nice, it only enhances the excellent content. Looking forward to the interview!
I agree on the catmint. Mine is so new that it hasn't started blooming yet. Also oregano just keeps giving all season.
Love that he is going to be sharing his favorite plant. I’ll have my notebook ready!
Amazing garden. I hope to transform one of my garden beds to look like this garden.
Please bring us back to see this garden when the phlox is in bloom.
Been trying to get a flamethrower redbud..no one has it yet in my area (Oklahoma) Gorgeous tree!
I pre-ordered mine from Sooner Plant Farm in northeastern Oklahoma, Green County. They cut off pre-orders this spring when they ran out of them but I think you can pre-order them once again. You can find them on FB too. I can't give you a review on them yet as my redbud won't be shipped until June 29.
@@MelodyHopkins Thank you!
Beautiful garden! I just keep adding different flowers to my wish list.
Breath taking garden thanks for sharing
🌸💜🌼🌺💙🌻🐝🎋🌿STUNNING ‼️
Really enjoy your channel. Please keep the videos coming
Gorgeous! 💚💚💚
Just love your videos - keep them coming :):) Have a wonderful weekend!
Beautiful gardens 👏🏾 must remember the Benary zinnias
I'm an Okie, and here, redbuds grow so abundant you can dig them up and transplant them into your yard! I have 6 in mine and haven't paid for one. It is our state 🍃 tree.
Gorgeous!
Amazing garden! Thanks for sharing. 😍
Beautiful garden
Amazing!
Fantastic video....this is exactly how I'm trying to create my garden....unfortunately my agastache did not return this year and I'm quite disappointed. The bees last year where delightful to watch on this plant.
Beautiful
Awesome!
Beautiful ❤️
So beautiful ! I would like to know how watering works. And also what to do about the Japanese beetles. Great video! Can’t wait for the interview. And yes, this garden is magical. 💕🌿🪴🌺🌸
Ahhhmazing! ❤️🌸
Just not seeing many butterfies. I've got lots of nectar & host plants. While I enjoy their beauty, wish more butterfies would find them. Can't wait for the interview!
Have you planted milkweed?! Guaranteed! 😉👍🏼
Goals🌸🌱💕
I was lucky to find a couple African Basil plants. Trying based on your recommendation. Also I love my Bronze Fennel! Second year for it. It’s pretty dang big! Last year had all phases of Swallowtail butterfly caterpillars on it. Super cool!!!
It is super fun to see
Wow! What a gorgeous yard! I bet it smells delicious. Questions: how does the watering work and is there any fall-winter interest other than seed heads?
Traumhaft, daher abonniert. DANKE!!!
How do you control Japanese beetles? They are eating up my poor rose, this year.
Jim - love seeing this border every year. I notice that all of these plants seem very tightly planted in most places, similar to the JC Raulston perennial border. Does Denny follow "recommended spacing" and these plants have all matured to their max size, or are these tightly planted beds and it's a survival of the fittest situation? Would love it if you could do a discussion about how to get that packed border effect.
Thats how herbaceous borders have always been planted here in England, it wasn't until I started watching American gardening videos on youtube that I saw another style of planting with plants more widely spaced ad the gaps covered in woodchip. I love how youtube gives you a window into gardens in other countries! I do think I still prefer the closer planting though, it just looks so full and exuberant. Plus cuts down on weeding and watering, and you don't need to put lots of woodchip down to fill the spaces.
nice
I was so inspired by this bed!! I live in Alabama and have issues with Japanese beetles a lot!! I resort to seven sometimes. I like to use the granular in late winter and it helps a lot. Didn’t do it this year. I was just curious if he ever uses any kind of pesticide on them? I also got a bare root of that redbud with all the colors but it hasn’t put any leaves on yet?! Any tips? I paid dearly for it!
Wow
Hi Jim i'm in Ga thanks for he tour. Can you give me an idea where to find the Golden Fall Redbud Tree. I've been looking in my garden centers and nursery with no luck. Ditto thanks
How often does he water and for how long. Beautiful! Wish he were my neighbor!
Are the flame thrower redbuds available in any nurseries. Beautiful perinnials
Would love to know HOW to plan a beautiful garden like this! Mine looks like a hot mess!!!
