That is the greatest thing watching Dad’s teaching their kids how to run a Cat! And them trusting them do do it in front of a audience! Wow!

Warms my heart to see young'uns running machinery. In the "old days", if they can reach the pedals they can help-out around the farm or camp.
It was a mistake to eliminate the 16-yo apprenticeship and industrial option for kids that didn't want to go to college.

3:59 is like my dad's old D2. Except the diesel tank was behind the seat and I believe the battery was under the seat. But it did have a similar blade with tilt.

Rough looking bunch and I do believe you were right in the middle with your tumble-bug grader. The 6-D was getting on with it and a lot of interesting machines. The younger ones were getting some clutch time. Thanks! This was a good one, as usual!

I was going to brag about you being home and not riding the rails but I should've just stifled myself. i don't blame you one bit. Beats working in a blasted dealership all to flinders. I'll be around, God willing, when and if you get to post something else. Maybe this'll carry you into winter and you can be snug and dry in the shop and watch the snow fall. I know how it is to really like doing something so GOPHER IT, Buddy! Just be carefull and happy. I am 4 U!!!

Good to see another Nowthen attender! I had 5 tractors there this year. Didn't get much of the Cat area, but I was extremely busy this year. Loved the video - check out a few of mine!

Very foolish letting children drive those machines. Very foolish.

Thats how they learn in real life not in some disconnected fantasy world with no consequences for actions

@Show Cat You obviously didn't grow up on a farm then. Kids, like me, were driving tractors with equipment behind just like every body else doing what needed to be done. I probably started at about 12 and I am guessing on that one--maybe younger.

Yup. Teach them to throw boxes in a warehouse....... This is why kids have no skill because they are not taught anything because of everyone being worried about safety. Watch them like a hawk and teach them to be safe

Whatcha gonna do? Stick em in front of an xbox like the entire rest of my generation? Been running old construction equipment alone since I was 12. Im 16 now I travel across the state to go to shows that people ask me to come run their equipment at. I'd like to meet these kids one day. They're the future of this hobby, and our world.
