    Thank you for the honest review! Glad you love em! We we flex with the forklift we tend to put at least 1 person to simulate weight in a real world scenario. On the non-S teryx platforms (teryx 2014+ teryx-4 2012+) we put 2 guys in a teryx 4 and it was 20" off the ground, no weight 16". As you can see in your video when measuring the flex, there is still a good deal of shock stroke left. NEW Wheel travel is improved 34% over stock, 11" front 11.5" rear is new wheel travel, and a flex number of 20" before bump stops. (Teryx "S" models is a 25% gain, 12.5" F&R wheel travel and a flex of 21", which is the SAME as an HCR long travel!)
    We get the weights of each person to help them get the best set up for what they tell us. On your set up you had some work loads in the bed too, how do they do for work loads too? If you just drive around solo you could of even had softer rate springs to an even better ride, we set them up to carry 2 people and some cargo too on the 2 seater.
    May we add this to our "Everything Elka" playlist? ua-cam.com/play/PL4cLp3Lndo_7T1qiBQ-T4zNeQeaJT1ax4.html

      Thanks John great info for everyone who watches this. You touch on some stuff I missed. The vast majority of the time it’s just me and another person trail cruising. Very little of the time does my machine see ‘work load’ and I probably could’ve gone a little softer in hindsight. Definitely worth noting that you can tailor the lower stage shocks to everyone’s needs or primary riding style. You’re more than welcome to add this to your playlist. Thanks again for the great service and great product, John!

    I own a 2013 and 2021 Teryx4. My 2013 blew a rear shock. The OEM shocks cost for just the rear shocks was quoted $1,600 by the dealer. So I decided to upgrade the Fox2 shocks on the 2021 to Elka Hester Editions stage 1 and transferred my Fox2 shocks to the 2013 Teryx4. The Elka stage 1 shocks were less money for all 4 shocks then the cost of just the 2 rear OEM shocks for the 2013. Well worth the money upgrading my 2021. The Fox2 shocks on my 2013 were an upgrade to the original shocks. A win win. Hester's Motorsports is great to deal with.

    My t4 is a caddy with them.my local riding spot has several stair step section,you never feel anything till the rear drops of the last step.
    A buddy of mine has a x3 and needed to get to his truck for tools....we go through the steps and he looks at me and says DAMN THIS THING IS SMOOTH....that's enough for me...

      You won’t regret it at all! Still running mine. I’ve kicked around the idea of an Rmax for the extra hp but was just in a buddy’s last night and this rides as good. Only lacks the power but makes up for it in reliability I bet

    I removed the swaybar on my 2016 and I measured 14 1/2" travel in the front and the same in the rear. I heard good things about Hester but to me not worth the $3000 + CDN for them

    • @DirtRoadLife1
      @DirtRoadLife1  Рік тому

      That’s great if true but hard to believe. Mine was no where near that and I had the sway bar off for almost a year prior to the shock upgrade. Would be curious though if you could post a video of that

    That lurching you are doing going over that tree is the type of stuff that causes the bevel gear problems with these

      @@DirtRoadLife1 yeah I work on every brand my personal favorite is the teryx 800 4 the Achilles heal of them is that bevel gear just when you hit stuff like that go ahead and lock it in and go easy so it doesn't cause all that drive line shock load that's what will eventually cause the nut to back off and it can even bust the engine/transmission case nice machine I've got a 4 seat that I picked up wrecked I've got a set of super ATV arms and a set of bandit 46 series 3 shocks I am going to put on it once I get done fabbing the front end back together I'm interested in the ride quality compared to the stock fox shocks as well and the travel because where I live it's very tight trails in all the parks around here and the RZR 1000 4 maverick x3 4 and krx 1000 4s are great machines but they are just too damn big to fit through the trails here that's why the teryx fits my needs so well I have 2 kids so of course I gotta give up the bed space for the extra seats but it's almost identical to the 2 seat version just different brackets from the front seat backs to the rear the wheel base is the same on the 4 seater teryx and that's what I love about them

      @@haydendenard2693 I love mine with the bed cause of using it around the farm but if I got a 4 seat I’d still stick with the teryx like you said for mobility I’m tight stuff. Appreciate the tips on the bevel gear I’ve heard it can be a big pain to fix depending what all it takes out just like you said. I bet you’ll love those bandits. It’ll be a huge upgrade

    I have a 2021 Teryx4 S. I have bandits on them right now. They're ok. Does Elka have shocks for the S?

    • @DirtRoadLife1

      They do I believe but you should call John Hester to find out. Look up Hester’s Motorsports. He commented below. I have no experience with Bandits so idk how much you’d gain. He would know a lot better than me.
