The king of all kayak fishing batteries in my opinion. Meet the FPV Power 17.5 Ah battery! This super light fella boasts big features and backs them up. Hold one for yourself and see why it may very well replace what's below the deck in your kayak.

Another advantage with the FPV Power batteries is; you can run them in parallel (they sell the cable), so you can have two 17.5Ah FPV Power batteries for a total of 35Ah.
i just bought the same battery and it says the weight is 1.16lbs now looks like theyve done some upgrades. Im going to be powering the new Helix 8 g4n Mega SI+. I was looking up this battery after I purchased it for my FF and glad I ran across your video. This lets me know its legit. You are one of the only people on YT word I trust. Tight Lines
Wow, thanks for the flattering comment. I appreciate your support.
Mark, back watching this again... Sure would be a killer combination if FPV had a meter for use with the FPV Batteries, especially for Kayaks.. Would be unbeatable and put FPV in the lead..Has to be a big hole whether it's kayaks or something else. Use your connections to get this across... Thanks pal.
Berley pro makes a plate holder for the FPV power batteries, it can hold one or two of each of the battles. They also make splitters/adapters to run in parallel for even longer power options, it’s all waterproof as well. Great demo video on the battery Mark! Keep them coming brother 👍
I've been making the same exact battery for my company. This looks exactly like my product!
Great review Mark. Bro, your really good at what you do. People wanna know! Happy Holidays to you and your family. Tight lines never stop brother!
They are great I had one custom made. Here in Australia I was able to ask for what I needed and they provided me with a great light long lasting power source that can plug into anything 12v with a male pig tail fit, I pick it up with one hand like its a block of cheese so its easy to move around to multiple sources connect/disconnect. The 28aph powers my HDS7 inch carbon with 3d module which would draw flat two of his type of led acid batteries together within 7 hours. On my kayak I also power the pump and timer on livewell and this runs for 9-10 hours aprox $400au and worth every cent :)
I have this 17.5 battery from Mariner...I run my lights on my boat and fish finder. It's awesome and I run it off a fuse box. I run this all day... Definitely took care of my fish finder going dead after 4 hours.
I just bought the FPV-Power 12V 50Ah V3 and received it yesterday.
👍
I lifted one of those at Mariner Sails and they are really light. I ended up getting a Nocqua 10. Get this, one day on the water it went out and I couldn't get it to charge up anymore so I contacted Nocqua and they were kind enough to sent me another one. Then one day I plugged the original battery to the newer charger that was sent to me and it is working. Now I have two Nocquas in my arsenal lol!
Score!
Got one of these, awesome. Fpv also custom make lithium batteries in whatever size AH you want. I was quoted $600 Aud for a 50 AH one and it is so compact it's crazy.
Definitely going to look into this one! Thanks for the review!
FPV-battery I bought one it’s awesome just like you say light weight
Great review .. def gonna look into that. It's good that it weights less that's a plus in my opinion...
Dude that battery is awesome
Have you made a video with a 24lbs motor or 34lbs motor on the FPV-17.5 or FPV 50amp??.....I will love to see running time 💪👍
They last forever, I don’t have a video of run times. Sorry
They need to sell these directly to Americans(North and South America) . The 3rd party price is way too high to compete with Nocqua.
Not sure if it already been answered or post already
thats pretty good
Nice Review.
Sounds good but awful expensive, $219. Last 2 years I've used one of these, DC 12V 9800mAh Rechargeable Li-ion Battery Batteries bought on Ebay for $20. They now go for $24. They also offer a 20000mah version for around $37. In my case I use a 5" huminbird model with gps and seldom fish more than 4 hours. I'm retired so spend a lot of hours on the water. I'm thinking of getting the bigger version so I don't have to charge every day like I do now. I'm sure those batteries are great so if money is no object, go for it.
the difference is that these are waterproof. A lot of the Chinese ebay ones are suspect at best. If they get wet, it is possible that there can be a fire... I have used my 17.5 battery for two days and had no issues.
Yeah go buy that $37 20000 mAH battery on ebay.... It was suspiciously light like this FPV battery is BTW and I cut it open. It was horribly soldered old cell phone batteries with padding inside for 8000mah capacity.
@@brap242818 Yeah lithium ion is a new technology that is expensive, I would never take a $20 battery and put it in my boat with thousands of dollars with of gear. I would rather spend the $200 and know that I have a quality battery with all of the safe guards in place that you need to run lipo batteries. FYI if you do drain a lipo battery to 0 they will swell and catch fire, and I would put money on a $20 ebay battery not having the safe guards in place to stop you from draining one of these to 0.
@@escho6696 I ran my kayak fish finder that is a lowrance 4 dsi and it ran for over 12 hours. I let it run over night. On the other hand I run my lowarance hds live 9 with side scan and It can run about 6 hours. It pulls a little over 2 amps and hour though. That is why I got 2 batteries for longer trips. I like the battery for sure. Be careful of the pig tail though. It is a little weak and if you bend it too much it will break the wires in there. I had to get both replaced but it was my fault. Mariner sails did the work and cost me about 30 bucks for both to be fixed total. I will secure the battery in the skiff so the pig tail will not bend at the base of the battery.
The big bonus is that you can run the FPV Power batteries in parallel :-)
When are you buying a boat? Next step to growing the channel??
FPV-POWER Sells a 12V 1.5amp Regulator that is recommended to extend the battery life on fish finders .. have you tried it ?
This battery makes no sense at 916g and claimed 210WH of capacity. lipo has energy density of ~150WH/KG and this is 210 with enclosure at 916g? Something is not right. Someone needs to do a discharge test on this and see what they get.
Love to see one opened up to see what's in there.
What's the price tag on it
Check out wilderness systems 15 amp hour Lithium battery. It’s 14ounces and costs only $125
The WS battery can't handle over the higher amps of larger sounders which make it useless for guys running things like the Elite 7ti
@@brandongoh4835 I had a buddy return his for that reason :-(
Wilderness will not work with many of the FishFinder because of the power draw. Must check with Wilderness Specs which issued a tech bulletin because of the battery automatic shutoff.
great aussie products fpv and berleypro
Hey Mark, just curious, how does the Ah usage compare between Your fish finder and your trolling motor. I know they will vary from use but just trying to get a comparison...If your trolling motor is between 2 hour and 10 hour what is the fish location ... Ah usage on the fish finder is what I'm looking for. Thanks.
Cool
17.5AH is from 7V to 12.8V. what you don't say is the usable range of most equipment is from 10V and beyond. below 10V the fishfinder will stop working. which means, the 17.5AH is in fact only 8AH of usable capacity. correct me if am wrong please.
I'm saying this battery hasn't failed me during use. I've used it for years and it's great. On a full charge I can go two full days of fishing before it'll die. It suits my needs and that's all that matters. I don't concern myself with anything else as long as it works.
@@MDLRFishing when you want to review a product like a battery, the least you can do is do a capacity test in general and project the findings onto reality. This battery costing above 200$ is basically giving half of what it claims for kayak users.
The same battery in a different setup will serve you at least 5 days of fish finder use.
Did you use the amperage regulator on yours? Mine's only getting about 5 hours I don't have the amperage regulator
No, just an in-line fuse. I get approximately 2 seven hour fishing trips out of one charge.
Can recharge?
Yes
Can be ordered direct
Mariner Sails is the only one that I know of that sells them here in the US.
@@MDLRFishing I'm not sure about that but I've known about these for 5 months qnd googled the company qnd it's outlet. There are several companies in Australia that manufactor them.

Will that run a trolling motor ??? Or do they make one for a trolling motor ???🤔
I’m sure it would but not for long.
Cory fpv custom make any capacity you want.
Yes we have a 50ah available.
Would this run a Hummingbird Helix fish finder?
Yes, a lot of my other videos show me using the Helix 7 MSI
How long to fully charge it?
Not sure, I always put it on overnight and it's ready in the morning. It's circuitry protects it from over charging.
