I'm a guy with disability and the power steering on my E90 is really heavy. Is there any way to make it lighter. I mean is there any bigger pump can fit straightly? or will a smaller pump pulley help and bigger reservoir?
In case you have ATF (red) fluid in your PS system (a lot of people do without knowing) you can try replacing it with Pentosin CHF 11S (which is standard for BMW now) - it usualy makes wheel a bit easier to turn as that fluid is 2 times less "thick" than ATF. You need to remove ATF completely from the system though as they are not compatible and cannot be mixed... But if you have Pentosin in there already then i doubt there's much you can do...
BMWs e90s especially, have very stiff steering your better off getting a f30 not much more expensive for a used one ! E90s are ment to be hard to turn not hard hard but stiff
I have a 535i xDrive with dynamic drive and the power steering pump is full of power steering oil. I want to pull it out to rebuild it. Manuals say, I should take out the ac-compressor out first. But I do not want to do that, because I do not have the machinery and the experience to empty and recharge the AC-System. Is there a way to take out the pump without pulling the Ac-Compressor out first? Thank you.
Where do you open the system and drain the fluid? How often should the fluid be flushed and replaced? Thanks for the videos . I’ve got a 2006 e91 manual with the sport package.
Bought a 2006 330i (E90) that the power steering didn’t work. I replaced the pump and flushed all fluid. I followed your procedure and bless the system. The pressure hose is not clogged. Still no pestering. Replaced reservoir tank.
Man I wish watched this video a few days ago. I must have damaged my pump after I replaced the steering rack. It was low on fluid and I ran it like that for about a minute before I added more in. Now it makes a whining noise all the time and I think there is metal shavings in the fluid. I’ll be replacing the pump, fluid, reservoir, and following this procedure to remedy the issue.
Hey man I have a bmw 2013 328i an my steering wheel won’t turn at all an i can’t seem to find the power steering fluid reservoir at all in the engine an I took it apart can you help maybe ?
You can’t turn the wheel without inserting key. So just insert the key and turn it on leave but don’t start as he mentioned in this video. That’s it buddy.

Btw there is a actual drain plug on the rack! This is just diluting the fluids but better than nothing

@@fullblastx2597 if your 328i is a sedan it has electric steering so there is no power steering system.
Do you put the key in but do not start the car? Or just turn the steering wheel..it's very hard turn and it's locked.
