You have both remarkable patience and optimism with disaster staring you right in the face, Joe ~ well done. Really enjoy your work and touch with these engines. Each episode something new, different and interesting. Do keep it up. All of the best ex the Fairest Cape.⁉️👊🔥
Hi Joe. It’s such a shame that Gardner has been treated so badly. It’s sad as it has probably given its previous owner/s years of good service. I hope you can save it ! Love the new camera, superb quality video - All the best !!!
What a hot fitter I did work for Conway as a plant fitter back in the day thay have to fix plant under a lot of pressure the subbes are under pressure the plant must get out on time so on and on
Believe it or not I’ve done a job on a Japanese engine in a tug that was waiting for a piston and it was wanted in a job so we plugged the oil holes on the crank and it went out and did a job on 5 cylinders. It’s shook a little.
Interesting Joe it is a pitty they are in such a state somthings are repairable and some not so. it is a pitty Gardner used so much alloy in there water flow componants to alow so much decay i gather sumps have the same problems as well i am talking for marine appliction here. my proper marine 6LW has very little alloy componantery that i can see and very thakful for that looking at what you just showed us . did Gardner bring out a proper lxb just for marine use with a cast iron block ect at all ? once again thanks for your content of knolage of GARDNER ENGINES .
The audio is fantastic.

Interesting video I worked on a trawler once which had a 6LXB, shame about all the problems you’ve found with the not so good one of the two!
Thanks Joe but I think l need counselling now
That tape looks like self amalgamating tape, excellent for temporary repairs on cooling systems!

A sad state of affairs when you let your engines get to that sorry condition

The tape looks like self amalgamating tape, more often used for sealing electric cables.
