I have binged watch Heartland on Netflix for the past four years. I love the show. Ty was without question my favorite character, mostly because his character seemed real. Ty's love affair with Amy is a love affair for the ages. Amy is somewhat spoiled which leads to drama that most couples would blow right through, but Amy stretches it out to the extreme. Amy losing Ty broke my heart and I have not been able to get past it. Losing Ty caused so much of Heartland history to be tossed to the wayside. It's like watching another show. I really don't want Amy to have another relationship unless the character is crazy about Lyndy. After all, Lyndy needs a father not just someone in the family hot after her mother. I lost a spouse, so I know how long it takes to find someone who measures up. It hasn't happened yet and it's been eleven years.
Very interesting read! One of the best ones I have seen! May not agree with all but most of your points are valid to what the true Heartland fans want/expect! You mentioned off the start character Ty was likely the second most important on the show! I might differ somewhat as I believe Graham's acting his role as Ty was far superior to all including Amber(Amy)! He made his character so real and his storyline from a troubled teen all the way through to be a good husband and great father was just as interesting as Amy and her horse training( and I have numerous horses😂)! Ty participated in much of the horse work with Amy and on many occasions gave her sound advice on some of her training. I definitely agree as I know most true fans do that we have no interest in Amy pursuing a new guy! She needs to finish off in Heartland just like her mom, as a single, independent woman who focused on her child Lyndy, telling her everything about her father, getting back to her Miracle Girl status also like her mom was and get back to focusing on the troubled teen center which was set up in Ty's honor! You are right the vast majority of fans tuned in every Sunday evening to watch Amy/Ty and not only there romance but there development as a young couple through life's ups and downs and eventual husband/wife and parents! We have absolutely no interest in Amy chasing divorced men around especially when one is 7 years older than her(Nathan)!! Many many are troubled with Amy's lack of attention to Lyndy and her silence on talking with her about her dad! And one item that irked me big time was Amy bringing out that Miracle Girl saddle that Prince Amhed gave her(which she told Lou she had returned all his gifts), but that saddle on Ty's horse Harley and then give Lyndy a ride on, all well telling Lyndy she got the saddle from a friend who was a Prince!!! Discusting!!!😡😡 I do agree that Graham will not be returning and with that for me Heartland ended after season 13 and I believe season 18 will be that last season! Jack & Lisa & Tim will be packing it in! And I do know those who watch Heartland in our community have no interest in watching what they have turned this once enjoyable family show into!! Just saying from the beautiful foothills of Alberta 🇨🇦🤠🐎
The real success of Heartland was and still is the Amy and Ty love story. The dating in season 17 especially Amy's relationship with Nathan is simply the writers attempt to keep the storyline interesting, and not boring. I believe if Ty comes back to the show Heartland will continue with Ty, Amy and Lindy together again. If he doesn't return the writers will conclude the series with Amy unable to accept another(not just because Ty can't be replaced} because of her continuing strong love and feelings for Ty. She will conclude that her peace and happiness is with her as a single mother raising Lindy in the manner Ty would have wanted. In my opinion, because we had 14 years of this remarkable love story, whereby the viewers got to intimately know Ty, it makes it nearly impossible to erase him from the viewers minds and on a larger scale future Heartland seasons.
I watched it religiously, just to see Ty and how he died. But it's true, there is a big hole without him! However I still watch because of the horses! 🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎
I agree. Heartland is not the same. I watched 14-16 and was not impressed. I'll watch 17, but am not sure I'll ever watch again. Time to end it all. There is no charm and there is too much of sub-par Lou
I watched seasons 14-16 and I will never watch them again and I am not excited about season 18, but I will probably watch once. Some of the newer seasons I fast forward through a lot! I feel that Amy is like her mother Marion and she should stay single and raise her and Ty’s daughter Lyndy! I feel that if they keep bushing men at Amy the Heartland series will end, because without Amy and Ty’s love story the show is okay, but not great anymore 😢 What happened to Amy? She said Ty gave me enough love to last a lifetime ❤❤ Teach Lyndy your horse training like your mother taught you ❤❤
It's Def not the same anymore. I may watch to see but I have doubts it will be very good. WHAT A SHAME, I loved this show. Nothing against all the other characters but Tyi was just VERY VERY IMPORTANT!!!
I enjoyed your recap. I watch all the old series and episodes all the time. There's no humor in the recent series. I loved the fussing between Jack and Tim. It's hard to believe that with ty being written off that the show cannot resurrect itself without him. I think they need new writers with fresh perspective. I teared up watching so many of the old episodes because they were so heartfelt and moving. It's sad heartland has become boring and empty. New writers please. 😢😢
Resurrecting Ty in season 18 is a bigger crime than killing him in season 14. How come no one in the family realized he hadn't died? Wasn't there a wake or funeral? It was hard to overcome the grief (for us too), Amy suffered for years and, when she seemed to have found peace with Nathan and Lindy, they brought Ty back... It's like Game of Thrones...

The lips touching couldn't be called a kiss and Amy pushed him away. I haven't seen anyone good enough for Amy and lindy. Keep Amy single and she and lindy can concentrate on fixing horses, lindy barrel racing and doing liberty work together ❤️. If Amy finds the whole dynamic of the show. Stay single. I love Amy ❤️
@@douglasnovinger7597 @thenextseason @rickyvenn361 Thank you all for the information, I've looked every where I can now stop looking and wait until 4/25/24 .
17 is worse! Amy changes to nothing more than a Buckle Bunny 🐰🐰 chasing every Hudson divorcee including one who is 7 years older than she is!! A true soap opera!! Just saying from beautiful foothills of Alberta 🇨🇦🤠🐎
I really don’t get! Why can we just give Amy’s character a chance to move on?! Yes, the love story of Amy and Ty was an amazing one!!! I personally was sobbing and my heart was aching for the entire seasons 14 and 15 after Ty’s death. But let’s face it, Wardell Wanted to leave the show, so his character died leaving us, his fans and the producers of the show, with a very young single mother and beautiful compassionate, smart and caring widow. The entire Heartland family was heartbroken by Ty’s loss. We Heartland’s fans were and still are heartbroken. But let’s us imagine for a moment that this is real life, and we care about and love someone who losses his or her great love, and this person also is as young as Amy’s character. Wouldn’t we love for that person to find happiness again and have someone on their side, a second chance to love? I believe that is something that will be beautiful and fair for our love one. I believe we should move on and give Amy’s character the chance to find love again. It will never be the same love story, no one wants or can replace Ty. BUT wouldn’t be better to see hope, new beginnings and love in our beloved show? Amy’s character is a young widow and let’s face it, we fans should give her the chance to move on after her terrible loss (it has been years since Ty’s death!) I personally love how the new characters are developing, and how the Heartland’s family story is going despite all the real life actors leaving the show (for example Finn’s actor died in real life something the producers and cast weren’t expecting and have no control over. RIP Cormier) I believe we should give Amy and Nathan the chance to build a new life together since they both have had great losses and heartaches in their lives and this can give their characters the chance to heal and grow together. In Nathan’s favor, I personally perceiving his character as someone who loved someone in the past but got hurt real bad by that person. So I would think that if this is real to life, anyone would have reservations to open up to a new love after being hurt like he was. I believe that whoever decides to give this wholesome show a chance to continue developing the storyline won’t be disappointed to see that love will overcome any family drama. Besides the horses, farm life, scenery are all still breathtaking throughout all seasons. Just a thought! 😉
I think I would be fine with season 18 being the last season of heartland. Ideally everything would round out relationship wise, Amy would find her new love, and the family would be in a great place with even better things on the horizon. If the show ended like that I would be ok with it
I am a true fan of the show, and I agree,it's not the same without Graham, but in the end it is his decision to return or not,we have to respect his choice, he gets that we as fans love his character, but he also has a life outside of this show. I truly miss his character on the show, but if your a true fan of a wholesome show, the other actors are awesome too! # love Amy and Ty as the perfect couple always.❤❤❤
I don’t know if I’m gonna watch the next series or not .I’m very disappointed that Ty wouldn’t come back for this but you know he made up his mind long time ago so I guess we have to deal with it. just have to wait and see. I will say that I don’t think the show has been near as good as it was before when he was there.😢
I absolutely love 'Heartland'- I've been watching the reruns on Cozi TV, then suddenly this am- Mon.8/5/2024, it's not on! I disagree with this person who is speaking about the show. I think every character in the show was great- love them all! Why take away the reruns? Bring them back, please!!!!
Get Amy back together with Kaleb. They could say He never got over her and rebounded to into the arms of the other gal because she moved into his trailer and never left. Her guilty conscience can make to live a fair drag on.
I Love Heartland & would still watch it if it was available on a channel I have access to. I would love to see Amy move on also I would love to see more of Lisa & Jack & hopefully Lou would settle down & watch Katie grow up & I need more Georgie. ❤❤❤
Just finished season 17. Very subpar. The suits brought in an irritating cast of people I don’t care anything about their plot lines. Amy laying on a blanket with a guy who is destroying the family business. Come on writers, sharpen your pencils and get creative.

When is seventeen coming to Netflix?
No Ty then no Heartland. There is nothing to look forward to. It has been said that Ty is coming back! When? You are making season 18 but still no Ty.
