    Quick Dip 100 from Flora Life is also a good product for hydrangea. Thanks so much for all videos filled with information and inspiration. I have opened recently my flower shop and watching your videos is really useful.

    FYI Alum is easily found in the spice aisle of most supermarkets. It’s used for pickling veggies. Also good to stop a nose bleed or if you’ve cut yourself shaving.😉👍🏻

    Thank you, John! The anemone idea is brilliant! And the allum (for hydrangeas specifically) is a wonderful tip. I'm going to try that one if I ever get back to flower arranging for the church. It's not looking too good at the moment here in the States. Wonderful to see you and to see you looking tanned. Summer is grand!

    You are so right about spraying flowers lightly! In nature you rarely find living things to be a single colour. I find if you do what seems to be a bad paint job, but in fact you have done a light partial spray with some parts of the flower, or branch etc their original colour, some parts with such a light spray that it “ smears” the colour out and mixes with the original colour, and some bits with more paint, the effect is both subtle and realistic.
    Many materials that have dried start a whole new life with some spray. Eg dry leucadendrons look great with a white or toning spray spritzed over them, so do banksia men (pods) and many kinds of branches, also silky oak (Grevillea robusta) leaves. I find it brings out a lot of nuances in their structure that you otherwise barely notice. Love your videos John. Thank you very much for your generosity. From Adelaide, South Australia.

      Thank you so much 😊 I haven’t heard grevillea called that before ! Yes, dried materials can really be enhanced with a little colour. I’m jealous of all the materials you have over there - some exciting bits to choose from 😀
      Best wishes to you in Australia 🌼

    About the herb cuttings in small pots. I wonder if you soaked the oasis in a rooting medium, would the herbs take root? If so, they would make good take home favors for guests. Love the channel!💐

    • @FlowerJoos
      @FlowerJoos 3 роки тому +1

      Katsch S they might - but I wouldn’t sell that idea to the customer as rooting cuttings depends on so many factors the results can be quite variable. I know from experience - and they take so long, and are better under polythene.
      It’s an interesting idea though - maybe to use old foam - but I tend to use a sand and compost mix. Thanks for the question 🙋🏼‍♂️😀
